Exactly.

That goal Villa scored (the second one disallowed), it looked incredibly tight with Robinson on the far side. But, the VAR check seemed to be almost instant, and we never saw the lines. Sure, I'm all for quick decisions. But, how did they get that one so quick when at other times it takes them about 5 minutes? Is the tech much better now? Are the VAR officials much better? Or did the VAR officials do a quick check, say he was clearly onside as they only looked at the central Liverpool defenders, and they missed that Robinson was further back on far side of pitch?

At least the lines gives fans the comfort that the process is consistent and the officials actually based their decision on the correct players. Not showing the lines, I suppose they are less likely to be held to account if they make a mistake (which has been known)

The VAR decision was done quickly

That’s how it should be

The lines are only used when it’s a close call

If the lines aren’t used and shown then it’s not a close call

Yes it didn’t look a close one I thought he was well offside.
I thought it was well offside, until I saw the replay where they did a still shot, and Robinson on the far side looked close to playing him onside. Only saw it once, but the commentators where also pointing out it was tight. Then as they went away from that image, the ref had already restarted play.

Given we've seen VAR spend ages checking offsides that seem even more clear, I was simply surprised that they can suddenly clear offsides up almost instantly.

If there was no lines the coms are only guessing like us.

Players going in opposite directions can make it look close.

If there going to make VAR decisions it would be nice to see them.

Great game last night at Villa Park.

Was gutted to see Garcia make such a silly error for their first goal, he's been brilliant during his few couple of games for the club and played great last night bar that one silly moment.

Great attacking intent from both teams and a hard fought point.

Must say, when you see the passes that VVD and Trent spray around the place with pure precision its quite something, Liverpool need to keep those guys.

Villa undefeated at Villa park since August, need to keep that record going for the rest of the year.

One final thought - who had Villa going further in the CL this season than City? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
I probably did and that said, I am surprised you are not above us in the league. Do Villa have enough in the tank to run a good champs league and prem run in for the top four.
Re City, this is a season to far for to many senior players. Am not gonna sit here with rose tinted glasses and say our turd just needs a polish. This is not our year and good luck to whoever’s year it is, inc Villa and Forest.

😂 I remember his first game for Liverpool ? V City in the charity shield at Leicester. We were reliably informed that Nunez was the real deal and Haaland was a donkey 😳😂

He is, he really is 🤷‍♂️. You can't win them all but he has had long enough, been given enough chances, keeps missing.

Is there only two dynamics of a signing

Success or flop ?

Does it always have to be extremes ?

He isn’t a flop

He has been at the club for 3 seasons

First season 15 goals and 10 assists

Last season in 50 games he had 18 goals and 13 assists

This season mainly from the bench his numbers are 6 and 6 with big winners in a couple games

He has missed multiple poor chances and will prob leave but over the seasons he has helped the club to winning trophies and potentially a shout of winning the league

He isn’t suited to Slot which is why he doesn’t start him but he hasn’t flopped at the club

If he is a flop then 90% of the signings made are flop - clubs will be full of them

And he’s missed multiple good chances too. The logic is very simple, i.e. if he was good enough, there wouldn’t be such a loud debate about him.

Imagine what Liverpool would have won if they’d had someone putting away those chances.

I honestly don't think we will get top 5, it all depends how far our CL campaign takes us - if were out in the round of 16 then all of a sudden we're back to 1 game a week and can start putting a strong run together.

However, we have Dortmund or Brugge in the next round, which if we play well against, we have a chance!

I'm as pessimistic as you. I don't think my club will get in top 5 either

Don’t get me wrong he hasn’t hit the heights needed and has missed chances when presented to him

The debate was non existent 3 weeks ago when he came on and won the game against Brentford

That didn’t suddenly mean he was the bees knees

Just saying that he is somewhere in the middle as opposed to being a flop

People were calling him a flop long before 3 weeks ago. Didn't mean he would never ever score another goal

If he played for any other team there’s no doubt in my mind AW would be absolutely rinsing him and labelling him a flop.

Not if a players has the same level of g/a that he has

There is somewhere in the middle of a roaring success and a flop

For some reason people only look at the extremes
Like he did with Ugarte after his 1st match? :ROFLMAO:
don’t believe I ever labeled him a flop -

Said I don’t think he is suited for the prem
