From the outside it is stunning.
Spurs controlled periods of the game but if United had been able to finish the result would likely have been very different.
The game I watched, and the stats I’ve looked at, are not suggestive of one controlled by the home side.

True but in terms of first choice starting elevens, Spurs had more missing. Martinez, Ugarte and Mainoo make minimal difference anyway, it was only Amad and Shaw who are potential game changers in that formation and you can pretty much write Shaw off now.
Spurs had more possession, more shots, more shots on target, more corners and a higher xG. They controlled the game. I'm not saying they were brilliant but they were the better side and controlled the game.

It is irrelevant overall but when describing controlling games it's the main stat as it shows who made more passes and which team was on the ball more.
Forest are the best counter attacking team in the league, hence their stats.

I went to a match last season. The stadium itself is amazing - great entry and exit set up, great bars and food outlets.
But the atmosphere was
.They all jump up and cheer when Spurs score but it was otherwise a bit sterile.
Don't know if it's truth or
but it's been suggested that the club deliberately scattered the hardcore from a couple of sections in the old ground all around the new place to split them up.Took a colleague on a stadium tour last year for his retirement. No mistake, the place is amazing. It just lacked atmosphere when I went to a match there.

We definitely counter attack in an exciting fashion, but usually fluff it. The majority of our goals have actually come from open play. Boring but true, apparently.

Frustrating, I agree, but I’d make two points.
First, he made a pretty decent start in a United shirt as I recall. One swallow does not make a summer.
Second, he won’t be the first import to struggle in the Premier League who goes on to flourish elsewhere, and he won’t be the last.

Personally I think both Anthony and Rashford were “ comfortable “ at Utd”, the only difference between the two. One had been there weeks and the other years. I think they both thought they had “made it”. The problem for them both is the same. They have been hoofed out and need to show what they can do again ofherwise they will be left out in the cold.

Agreed, I didn't see all the game but what I did see I thought united were much better than of late. Someone said that Bruno gave the ball away with every pass, but what I saw didn't reflect that. Zirkzee was very good with his close control and looks promising for the future.
I do feel for Amorim though, that Garnacho miss was awful and if his strikers can't put those away they are letting him down big time!
I hope Amorim is given the time to build his own squad.

I've been to the new ground 4 times and not once experienced a good atmosphere from the home crowd. Every stadium cheers a goal - I'm talking about the atmosphere around the ground the rest of the game.
However
Its happening everywhere now, the "big clubs" are just far more tepid in atmosphere in general.
The best ive seen personally this last 18 months was at Arsenal before our away game there last season.
Go to Forest or Newcastle though and its still top class.

Bruno is just often so frustrating. He will run everywhere for you, but it almost feels like he is trying to do the job of 2 or 3 players, and not getting the best out of himself. I can't blame him for a lot of that, especially when his team mates change every week. He will play some great passes, as he tries enough of them. And he is capable as well. But, he'll often try a crazy pass in a really dangerous position for us if we lose the ball.
Garnacho's finishing has been really poor of late. If only he could get a nice easy overhead kick opportunity, rather than those really difficult opportunities on your strong foot 8 yards from goal. Actually no real issues with the defenders yesterday, and Zirkzee looked very promising again. Mainly because he was doing basics like being able to control the ball and find team mates with simply balls. It has really come to the point where, as a Man Utd fan, I'm getting excited when I see a player who can play a 5 yard pass successfully. But, as a performance, I did actually enjoy a lot of it compared to many other games in the past. But, it is still a loss, so another week of the media tearing Utd and Amorim apart.
Possibly the biggest concern is having a bench full of 12 year olds. Even if some of them have great potential, I'd be worried about throwing them in to play with that team.
