I had read that the Spurs offer was £50m, which suggested a permanent deal, but now it seems unclear just what the deal will be. We will see.

I still like Hojlund, but for whatever reason he is really struggling and Amorim does not seem to favour either him or Zirkzee. In the absence of those two, I really fear for the rest of this season unless a rabbit is pulled from the hat in the next few hours.

Signing Tel seems very strange for Spurs

Very good prospect no doubt but more of a wide forward as opposed to one through the middle

That’s very much how I feel on all fronts.

As I said a day or so ago, not bringing in a proven goalscorer in the summer in support of the inexperienced Hojlund was the most baffling bit of management I think I have ever seen. It was a glaring omission, and one which was sure to backfire spectacularly, not least if Hojlund suffered a long term injury.

He arrived as a raw talent and has had no opportunity to develop. Instead he has had huge pressure heaped upon him and it is starting to show. Not only is he the sole out and out striker, but as you so rightly say he is absolutely starved of service. I have said here until I am blue in the face that he has been living off scraps, so judging him even now remains grossly unfair.

Sadly, we are only just into February and I cannot wait for the season to end. I have every confidence Amorim can turn this around, but not with the squad he has. And to have to rebuild yet again, given the money squandered in the last couple of years, is absolutely disgraceful.

Good summary. I like him, and he does seem to score a high rate of chances. But a striker who seems to average less than one shot per game, as the service is absolutely woeful. In many respects, I have blamed the team for his lack of service, which is generally true.

However, if that had been a Ronaldo up front in the same side, I can guarantee he wouldn't be averaging one shot per game. He would have a huge presence up front. His movement would be superb. He would demand service from his team mates. Ronaldo is a harsh comparison given the player he is, but really any top striker with a presence would get that service and have the confidence to demand it from his team mates. However, I reckon Hojlund's inexperience has not given him that presence or self confidence, and he has just basically run around without his team mates really taking much notice. Instead of learning from a top striker in the first year or 2 of his career, he has had no real role model in that position. The responsibility has been all his. So, instead of having a couple of years great education under his belt, he has looked very lost since Amorim has come in.

Holjund needs service and he needs a run going

Whilst he hasn’t had much service when the chances have arrived he has snatched at them but that’s more down to just a lack of form

He has managed a few goals in Europa but really struggled in the Prem

His record coming to the prem wasn’t a heavy scoring one but again he is young

It’s very harsh to judge him because he does work hard

next season will be a big one for him
 
Think City are around the £200m mark for transfer fees spent this window now?

What a guy Pep is. Has a bad run and the only assistance he gets is 200 million quid to spend. How he’s able to operate on such a shoestring budget I can’t fathom. Best manager in the world! 👍👍👍

Looking at the players that have arrived and it’s staggering how fees have gone mental

£200mil and I don’t think there is one player that’s a real star stand out
