Much needed win for Spurs , three academy players scoring can’t recall that happening before in one match.
Micky Moore also breaking a record of Jimmy Greaves as the youngest scorer in a European game.
Another injury Dragasin this time hopefully it is not to bad.

Centre back goes off and replaced by a forward shuffle the pack and carry on 😂

Is Rashford’s wage going to see him be the next Gareth Bale, sitting on his backside week after week at a club that doesn’t want him?

The ultimate is still Winston Bogarde 😄 . I'd agree with @Orikoru and also add that Bale was coming to the end of his career when they sidelined him. Rashford should be at his peak right now.

Ultimately, the blame lies with the club as much as the player. The club offered him the crazy contract, no one forced them into this situation. Now they want out because it doesn't suit them. Painful but that's on them.

United have made some truly ludicrous contract decisions in the last decade or so.

Even after that one great season Rashford was worth nowhere near the amount referred to whenever his name crops up in such exchanges.

But he’s not an isolated case. The number of contracts which have been extended over the years when they should have been allowed to run down is mind boggling. The other classic example was Phil Jones. Spent god knows how long injured and rather than allow him to leave the club kept extending his contract.

It’s the primary reason the squad carries so much deadwood.

Anthony Martial, another

Scott Carson isn't far behind him.

He's played 2 games in 6 seasons, he's still pulling in £1.5m a year at the age of 39.

The difference being City are quite happy with that arrangement.
To be fair, there is logic in the Scott Carson story. It suits all parties. His salary is a bit different to Rashford's as well 😄

It’s 70mil Euros so around £64mil , not sure what his release clause is but you mentioned £100mil when we had this conversation last week - one of them was going ,

21 years old - play with Ronaldo for a couple of years and be back in Europe at 24 with a big chunk of money in the bank

But with Villa being offered £60mil for Watkins and £64mil for Duran

The £60mil for Watkins at 29 would be a very good deal

Its not a good deal to sell a proven striker over a non-proven one.

Everyone is so big on Duran, he's had flash in the pan highlights but he's not the player everyone thinks he is, far better to sell him.

Makes me laugh the mess United are in. Rashford on £325k a WEEK while staff Xmas bonus is cut from £100 to £40 to 'save money' 🤣

I'm not sure if it is something that should come as any surprise. I don't think there is any football club in the land in which you can use a direct relationship between the salary of a single player in your club, and the salaries, bonuses and redundancies that apply to all general staff. Especially clubs that may have hundreds or thousands of staff.

I don’t think too many are questioning the move from Villa’s perspective. But from the player’s point of view, whilst he’s lining his pockets he’s also stopping his career in its tracks at the age of 21.

Winstons son plays for the Villa these days :ROFLMAO:

He's Columbian, I don't think he cares about the prestige over here, clearly a money man - cant think of many Columbians that haven't been all after money tbh

Whilst I have sympathy with that view, I think the player is also equally to blame. I think in his early days he was putting the effort in, but I think the off field actions whilst laudable have led to his head being filled with how wonderful and important he is, when he clearly isnt trying at his day job. I suspect he won't drop his wages to get a move and will sit on the side collecting his money in the hope Ratcliffe decidescomes begging to him to save the club.
Talented players they are, but him and Sancho have been so toxic for the whole team. I think they probably learnt from Ronaldo in his final stint there.

Disappointing news about Orel Mangala. He has damaged his cruciate ligaments and is out for the rest of the season. He has been excellent for us this season, he will be a real miss. We had him on loan from Lyon, not sure what will happen next. I would happily have seen us sign him as a replacement for Gueye, legs are going now, but this is a tough injury to come back from so the club may have to wait and see how he recovers. I hope he does fully recover, he has been a real asset and grown through the season.

Does he actually play or does he just sit on the bench counting his money :ROFLMAO: . To be fair, Bogarde was a very good player in his time. I'm sure he doesn't care how Chelsea fans remember him.

He played in the CL on Wednesday mate! Lamare Bogarde.

Seems to be the Academy player pushing for first team appearances this year, he's a CDM by trade I believe but we've played him at CB and RB this season and he's done himself justice in those positions too.

Could be a real talent in the future.

Absolutely, this is on both parties. If he isn't putting the effort in, pretty clear that is the case, then it's 60-40 on Rashford but Utd were still crazy to give him that size of contract.
