Lucky them. I wonder why that area is more deserving of funding than the areas around the rest of the grounds in the UK? 🤔
Yet City get slated for over spending on players ( allegedly) but the owners can spend as much as they want of there own money on the ground and surrounding area. City are in an area called eastlands, formerly known as the wastelands. How’s that right.

I understand that the CL playoffs will be based on finishing position...i.e. 9v24, 8v23 etc and, if correct, the new format is going to throw up some cracking play off ties...

Atalanta v Brugge
Dortmund v Sporting Lisbon
Madrid v Man City
Bayern v Celtic
Milan v Juventus
PSV v Feyenoord
PSG v Brest
Benfica v Monaco

However, sadly, I've just read elsewhere that the teams finishing 9th-16th will be seeded and it will be a random draw matching those teams with the 17-24th finishing teams.....which is a real pity in my opinion.

Also that the round of 16 will also be drawn on a seeding basis with the teams finishing 1st-8th in the main group phase being seeded.

Not a fan of seeding....simply gives the advantage to the big teams....would much rather that draws were "free".

Thought the ref in Liverpools game was a strange one.
He got all the big decisions right.
But he never gave us a thing second half clear fouls just ignored.
The foul on Dan’s was a joke.

We did ok but were undone in 10 mins in the first half
Top of the table so job done.

Just an observation.
The format robbed the PSV fans who paid their money from seeing the real Liverpool wonder how they feel about that.?

How? Thats not how the UEFA site describes the play off draw.

They say the 9th-17th teams will be seeded and randomly drawn against the teams in 18th-24th places. TNT sports are reproting the same as you (and that Celtic will either play Madrid or Bayern)....but no explanation as to how the pairings are arrived at.

In the knockout phase, the teams that finish between 9th and 16th will be seeded in the knockout phase play-off draw, meaning they will face a team placed 17th to 24th – with, in principle, the return leg at home. The eight clubs which prevail in the knockout phase play-offs will then progress to the round of 16, where they will each face one of the top-eight finishers, who will be seeded in the round of 16.

So I cant see how it is already predetermined that Madrid/Bayern will be Celtic/City's opponents.

So 21 and 22 will play against either 11 or 12

So 11 and 12 will be the seeds

21 and 22 the unseeded

So they draw either Madrid or Bayern first

Then either Celtic or City next

And the two left then play each other
