Re City and the 115 charges. I have said it before and continue to say it. I think they are guilty of breaking some of those charges. I have said this before. They had to. There was no way that City were getting anywhere near the top table unless they spent serious money. It started when they bought Robinho for £30 million. Everyones fa our ire second club at the time had just bought a world class player to come to a bang average club.
Yet look at the last report re have any clubs over spent. Not one. So City and other clubs have now got to a stage where they are sustainable. Yes sustainable but still a flawed system that favours the big clubs including us.
Yet Newcastle would like to do the same. Under the present strait jacket FFP rules which were set up by Crooks eg Platini etc. they have not got a cat in hells chance.
Having said all that. It’s down to the owners to run there clubs and if you looks at City, Utd and Liverpool. They all have owners that are a million miles apart.

This is actually a decent read

But again, from a fans point of view they count trophies.

One thing I did read. The other day. Klopp who is now an ambassador for red bull has ripped into Man City and the 115 charges and told the players that if found guilty he is having a party at his house in with the players in Mallorca. Because guilty charges against City make his achievements “ look better”. However.
Quote,
It is clearly in Klopp's interest that City's record is tarnished as his own record at Liverpool will be improved - however the irony is that he would not get more than his sole winner's medal even if City were stripped of all titles in the period under scrutiny.

Klopp arrived at Anfield in 2015, finishing eighth, fourth and fourth in the three seasons before the cut-off for the charges in 2018. He guided Liverpool to second place in 2019 as City won the domestic treble - leaving Liverpool second despite amassing 97 points - but Liverpool wouldn't get any retrospective title for that season.

The ironic thing is that if City were to get stripped of titles, Utd would get one under Mourinho. Not sure if Liverpool fans or Klopp would like that one either.
Apart from I can’t be bothered to read all that.😇

As I’ve said before Tash, City’s behaviour apparently only affected 1 Club and it seems a lot of Oil money is bad, but a little bit is OK or if your main sponsor has been fined billions for money laundering terrorism money that’s OK as well. 👍🏻

You tried to buy him in the Jan, after he’d gone on strike and you secretly flew him to Blackpool to meet Klopp.

Soton turned down your bid and threatened to report you to PL.

You and Soton agreed a deal, you massively upped your bid and they agreed not to report you!

Facts, facts, facts!

City’s behaviour is irrelevant in terms of how much FSG could or should of spent.
But it’s a good excuse because you think it only affected Lpool.

😂😂😂😂 I’m done 😂😂😂😂

We tried to buy him in the summer in

He allegedly told Klopp that he wanted to come to Liverpool

Southampton asked the Prem to investigate , we ended any interest

At least get your timeline right

But at what cost? ie wages, surely even keeping them you need to strengthen? Part of Klopp’s problems was that he tended to buy ready made players, his record of bringing Youth Players through wasn’t the best.

Ready made players ?

The club have brought through and played plenty of youth players over the years

😂😂😂
Fancy me not knowing the timeline!!
Did you forget to mentiin the texts started after the meeting in Blackpool.

😂😂😂

Yes we had loans to build the stands 🤷‍♂️

Loans which have been paid off

Liverpool manage their annual finances exceptionally well, including buying and selling players.

However, their debt around capital expenditure/infrastructure spending is, or was, around £200m, and they’re servicing that debt by about £11m a year. A number of owners convert debt to shares, e.g. Steve Gibson at Middlesbrough has just converted £142m into shares - note, it is a legal, accepted practice in business to convert debt into shares. Maybe Liverpool have done the same - maybe that’s the dynasty investment you mention, taking a huge chunk off that £200m.

There is an argument that converting debt to shares devalues the shareholding of some owners, minority shareholders. But where there is only one owner, it’s a left pocket, right pocket exercise to shift debt off the books. Again, it’s sound financial management but it could be argued it’s still debt but just has a different name.

The debt over the years was reduced by payments and think it total at the last records was £71mil for the owner loan for one stand and £88mil for the Bank loan for the other stand plus Covid loans etc

The owners were looking to get small investment in to remove that debt and that’s where the Dynasty Investment comes -

Also helped buy back Melwood and clear some amortised transfers ( pay of the Szbolozai release clause )

I think the one difference with Ashley is he at least left Newcastle without debt. He didn't invest but he didn't rig the club to suck money out. He clearly made money, but he didn't do a Glazers to the club.

He's in the mix, for sucking all ambition from the club, but there are worse out there.
That is true...he kept the club on a decent financial footing and was happy to maintain mid table mediocracy which resulted in the fans having to suffer the indignity of being relegated twice.

Liverpool owe FSG £71million. This is more than 13 other clubs in the PL owe to their shareholders. You have very rose coloured glasses when it comes to LFC and maybe you need to take a bit more of a balanced view?
Take a bow son 👍

Trent, already there before Klopp

Kelleher & Bradley brought from Irish Academy’s

Elliot bought from Fulham, were he made his debut.

I’ll give you Quansah.

So 1 isn’t bad.

You said he tended to buy ready made players

And his record of bringing youth players though was poor ?

So are those players not youth players brought into the first team

They aren’t ready made

Could add

McConnell
Danns
Koumas
Morton

Three more that have come through
