Well Henderson has completed the move , it’s disappointing but it’s also staggering that he was at the club for 12 years and skipper for over half that time. Will be rightly remembered as a legend for the club. Very much underrated as a player but will be missed and leaves quite a big hole to fill at the club

Who will Hoof the ball & do all the clapping now? 🤷‍♂️

We’d all do the same.
£700k pw 🤯

Just find it hilarious after Liverpool fans bang on about morals & criticise dirty oil money, only for saint Stevie & Hendo to go chasing it 😂😂

Why is it hilarious? Those who have criticised the dirty oil money have also been openly critical of Gerrard and Henderson.

Or is this just an opportunity to to try and have a dig at certain members of the forum?

What people do when they leave a job is nothing to do with their previous employer.
This has nothing to do with Liverpool ( except a transfer fee) but they would have got that if he had gone elsewhere.

If the whole country stopped dealing with the Saudis I could understand the criticism.
why should sports people not take the money.?
Every one else does!

Its his statements on LGBTQ matters that are questionable imo.

Nope not at all 🤷‍♂️

Just find it hilarious that 3 of their legends going to Saudi shows that they have no morals.
Just like the club, they’re like every other club 👍🏻

In all fairness, there is a Liverpool fan in here who seems to enjoy slating players of certain other clubs, or those clubs themselves, any chance he gets. He then also seems to boast about how great a club his is in comparison.

For example, if Klopp oversteps the mark, gets sent off and sets a horrible example when grass roots football is being cancelled in Merseyside due to violence, you just get a quick "he said sorry, let's move on, nothing to discuss". If a manager of Utd, City or Arsenal did the same, we could get weeks of criticism from same person.

So, if players take the "blood money", as defined by this particular fan, it is no suprise that a few others enjoy it when Liverpool legends take the money. And use it to remind him that Liverpool are not better, or more morally superior than any other club. Because, if Gerrard and Henderson openly turned down moves to Saudi Arabia, you can bet he'd have been shouting from the rooftops that Liverpool are just so much better than anyone else :)

In all fairness, the vast majority of football fans wear rose tinted glasses where their team is concerned.

I don't know the full details, mainly because I don't care but I'm not sure how the club can be blamed/congratulated on the choices that individuals make about their careers. On the extreme, maybe it would have been great to see Liverpool/Chelsea etc reject any offer from a Saudi club and just say we dont want the money from you.

😂😂

All the twisting and turning is amusing

Not sure how a club or its fans are in anyway responsible for the choice of the players or ex players

But for those whose obsession blinds them from fact or truth below is what was posted when the story of Henderson was broken
Hugely disappointed in Henderson , thought a lot more of him and leaves with a bit of sour taste

Players will always chase the money and it’s very poor to see players still in their prime like Neves , Mahrez and Fabinho

But Henderson I thought have higher morals than others especially with his work during Covid and been very vocal supporting LGBQT

He was club captain and his legacy is a bit tainted now 😢

It’s staggering how one person is that obsessed about one club and their fans - to the point he doesn’t post anything about his the club we think he supports

His obsession with a poster is whilst a little sad is prob also a little bit disturbing at times.

Think once a player has made his mind up to leave for most clubs it’s best to just look for the best deal and move on

It’s disappointing to see what’s going on with the Saudi league and the sportswashing - it’s a shame that the owner charter is just a little bit too late to stop states buying clubs

If a player has made up their mind, then yes it is usually best to move them on. However, if a club really wanted to take a moral standpoint then they can still refuse an offer from a Saudi Club. Tell the player they can go, but they just wont sell to "dirty money" or make the player buy themselves out of their contract.

Obviously the above would never happen, but if people really want to stand for their morals then there is the option there to do it.

Agree I wish that the club did refuse to do business with any of the clubs involved in the Saudi league

The sport is morally bankrupt - has been for years but the governing bodies have the ability to change - whether they have the balls to do it is a different matter - hence why the results of the investigation/charges to Man City are key

That is sometimes true, to a small extent. But, I'm not talking about the standard level of "rose tinted glasses" here. I'm talking about an individual who has the highest gold standard rose tinted glasses available on the market.

I'm a Man Utd fan, and I've been hugely critical of my club for a number of years in many aspects. As have other Man Utd fans. Listening to TalkSport over the last few months, it seems like Spurs fans hate their club in many ways, and ring in to tell the world everything they think is wrong with it. Fans of many clubs criticise their own clubs, you hear it all the time on this forum. Often, any positive comments are nothing to do with rose tinted glasses. They are more to do with the hope that their club is moving in the right direction, so it is simply a bit of positive thinking.

Personally, I don't blame Liverpool at all in who they sell their players to, or who ex Players join as managers. And I've no issue with Liverpool fans who have never made a big song and dance about what players get up to at other clubs. However, if there is someone on here who is a frequent poster, and the type who likes to be critical of every other club whilst making his own club (and himself) better and morally superior to everyone else, then they need to expect a bit back when suddenly Liverpool "legends" don't seem too different to any other player at any other club, or any golfer leaving to join LIV for the "blood money" (another area he has made his feelings known very clearly)

Liverpool could just give the money to a LGBTQ charity.
The Saudis would love that,
It would make a point.

I think it goes without saying that if you are going to dish it out, then you need to be prepared to take it back

They havnt up to now.
I can’t see anything changing tbh.
They will always buckle to money.

Happy to help you go back through previous posts

Maybe it’s just worth having a little read back and see what’s actually been posted before embarking on paragraph after paragraph
