One thing that’s tells Me he won’t play Rice in defence is he is after Gvardiol. If pep gets him he has Gvardiol, Stones, Dias, Akanji, Ake and Laporte. Chuck in the wing backs and we’re loaded.

Actually heard Spurs linked to Laporte the other week. Would love that, but it's all gone quiet now of course. I'm sure we'll end up with some 5th rate alternative, like we already have with the goalkeeper.

More of this please..... :ROFLMAO:
Saw one the other day:

"Spurs will hold talks over a deal for Edmond Tapsoba in the coming days, the Bayer 04 defender is top of their list.
Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo is one of their other options."

Well we all know how that's going to go. Whoever is the back-up option for Tosin, that's who we'll get.

Ive seen this morning that he prefers the Arsenal move - but could just be BS... If you want to win things there's only one place to go atm IMO

It's not bs unfortunately, he wants to stay in London so his "I want to win things" doesn't wash because arsenal don't overly win stuff (more than us ofc)

Just hope it's over soon I can't take another year of rice fc ..

Some of our fans are pathetic. "Without him we are nothing" pfft if we get JWP and paulinha we will have a better midfield 3 (with paquata) than rice soucek and paquata (as you bring up the levels rather than 2 class one average)

I'll miss him tbh.
There are very few players who do nothing stupid, lazy, forgetful or weak during a game. Rice is one of them for me, always does the right thing well.
Apart from angling to be a goon, obvs...

I won't miss him at all tbh. It's becoming sickening to see the "I love you guys" bs all the time whilst refusing to sign a new deal

We get it you wanna leave but stop with the cross iron crap

When I get chance I will mention some of the things in his life which I never knew.
First one though. Towards the end of his career when he knew he was going to coach. He had a “ trial” at City. Stuart Pearce the then manager offered him a six month deal. Suffice to say Psycho you Rammel headed tit. 🤬

Not sure I get the last bit?

Are youncomallong Pearce didn't take pep as a coach?

You'll know your tram better than me, but I'm guessing Dunne, maybe Goater were part of the team then?;

Pep turns good players to great and great to world class. He's not a miracle working though. If he'd joined you back then, he'd likely never have become who he is now as you dodntnhave millions for him to shop with.

No City/ Pearce had a chance to sign Pep as a player. 😖

Wasn't that the back end of his career?

Imo he'd have been kicked off the field. He's a much better coach than player. Albeit he wasn't bad.
Am not to sure. We signed a player called Ali Bernabia. He was fantastic. Again towards the end of his career. He actually had a contract extension under Keegan and after a few months told Keegan he was not good enough and told Keegan to release him To take him off the wage bill. I think Pep could have been head and shoulders above what we had at the time.

Tbf thatsba fair point. I forgot the midfield you actually had 🤣

If you think our midfield was bad. What about Pearce as manager.

Despite a successful start to the 2005–06 season, City finished 15th in the Premier League due to losing nine of the last ten games. They were also eliminated from the League Cup by League One side Doncaster Rovers. Pearce developed the reputation as being unusually fair and honest by refusing to criticise referees for mistakes they may have made.[29] He was also touted as a potential successor for England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson.[30]

Pearce failed to bring about an improvement in the 2006–07 seasonwhich saw City come close to relegation.[31] The club were again eliminated from the League Cup by a League One team, this time by Chesterfield. The side also scored just ten goals at home in the league, and zero after New Year's Day in 2007, a record low in top-flight English football.[32] Pearce was sacked at the end of the season in May 2007.[33]

I copied and pasted that off Wikipedia. It don’t tell the story of how life was purgatory under Pearce.
However he got the job because the year before he nearly got us into the UEFA CUP. Fowler had a penalty missed v Boro in the last minute. That goes in. We’re in Europe.
Pearce got his first win be Liverpool. Scott Carson was in the nets for Liverpool. That was 2005. Guess where Carson is now. 😳
