Managed to grab a ticket and came down to game with the Mrs (Amex STH). What an atmosphere and a cracking game.Nearly all done and 1-1 probably a fair result ,but a couple of minutes can be a couple of goals.
Cmon the Albion
I would say this Brighton Team is technically a better team than that Leicester side that won the league. They have played some outstanding football this season and are the only team to have played football at the standard that Manchester City and Liverpool have produced between them over the last 5yrs. The club seems to be operating like a top 4 club. I've really enjoyed watching Brighton this season and i hope they continue to improve next season. From Brightons perspective. It’s a toughie. The £150 million quoted for the two players is a massive amount. How many players could Brighton get to make a bigger squad next season. Seems they go with the blessing of the manager who has said he will not hold them back should they want to play champs league. Brighton are the nearest thing I have seen to when Leicester won the title. An outstanding club run by an excellent owner.

Leicester's league win was a great acheivement but i also think it was a fluke.
I'd say the most impressive thing was you lost Potter, but it didn't derail you at all. If I recall correctly there was a minor blip but then you came back arguably stronger than before. You are right though, it will be impossible sustain over several years. Plenty of smaller teams have pushed into the top six only to have their players harvested and not been able to replace them with them same level. It's one of those things where the scouts get it right for a couple of years and all the signings come good. See Tottenham for the direct opposite of that effect. What a season Brighton have had ,they have played with all the confidence of a top six side all season long ,even when potter was in charge.
Unfortunately the wolves will come prowling and plunder our players with dreams of Europe every year ,but who is to say that Brighton couldn't do the same if the two main objects of desire could be made to stay a couple of years.
With the likes of our fresh faces proving there worth ,and with a season of top football behind them they are all but ready to become even better and maybe make the top six clubs look at themselves for paying exorbitant amount of money for players that are out there but need to be picked out , just like Brighton do.
Sadly our club cannot provide the wages that the state run sides can so it is inevitable that we will lose at least two of our outstanding players , good luck to them ,and may they never score against us .
How do you fluke a 38 game seasonI would say this Brighton Team is technically a better team than that Leicester side that won the league. Never heard of the Feyenoord guy before last week so who cares. Didn't even know RVN was a manager. Doing well in the Dutch league has never been that much of a sign of quality for players or managers anyway - going there is always a gamble. One for Spurs fans. The Feyenoord manager has supposedly ruled himself out of the Spurs job, supposedly they were keen on him. Van Nistelroy has left PSV, would you fancy him? Any other names being lined up? You don't want to go far into the summer without having someone in place, that spells a wasted season.
I think Potter would be the smart choice, if then allowed to run the football side of things. Not sure owners / chairman often make smart choices thoughNever heard of the Feyenoord guy before last week so who cares. Didn't even know RVN was a manager. I fully expect us to end up with Potter or Rodgers really. Don't mind either way. No top manager will touch us with a ten foot pole now so one of them will do. Preferably Potter of course.
I mean he's still young, something to prove, can get back on an upward trajectory and forget the debacle that is Chelsea. Might get us playing decent football, who knows. Going for the big managers (Jose, Conte) hasn't worked because they get frustrated I should imagine, that they can't get instant results because we can't buy them a stack of world class players. When Pochettino was appointed all he had really done was get Southampton playing nicely - and then we gave him plenty of time to build something. Potter fits that brief.I think Potter would be the smart choice, if then allowed to run the football side of things. Not sure owners / chairman often make smart choices though![]()
Got to say, in my opinion, that the Dutch league have produced some outstanding players over the years, I’m sure you don’t need me to name them.Never heard of the Feyenoord guy before last week so who cares. Ronaldo.. Robben.. Eriksen... I'm not saying they haven't, but the strike rate is about 50-50 when you think about all the flops as well.Got to say, in my opinion, that the Dutch league have produced some outstanding players over the years, I’m sure you don’t need me to name them.

They have struggled recently but the Dutch sides were world class.
