The ref blew for an almost identical one earlier in the game. Overhead kick in the penalty area.

I'd be apoplectic if I was a Leeds fan.
Live here, not a Leeds, but I do know football & I know been watching day-light robbery & official incompetence at another level, from those in charge. I've always laughed when they say it's routine for Leeds but today it'll be sympathy if they fail to go through.

Leeds deserved that after VAR did their best to cheat them out of the game.

I thought the follow through was a clear penalty in the first half, late and nowhere near the ball. We had one given for exactly the same against Huddesfield on Friday. The 11 minutes of time was bordering on corrupt. The goal to make it 2-2 was about an as obvious high foot as you'll ever see.

Throw in taking the kicks at the West Ham end of the ground when half their fans had already left and tried to crawl back in.

Listened to the match on 5Live and they said prior to kick off that if it went to pens they would be at the West Ham end…on Police advice.🤷‍♂️

Yes, absolutely was. A few mins later a Leeds player, in open play, got a Yellow for a less damaging attempt to play the ball......, & the very high-foot goal was so obvious to call. Hope Leeds are quickly back to full strength as losing players to injury has long been an issue with going for success in the FA Cup.

I heard that too before the game as I knew a few people in the Leeds end.

How on earth can the Police decide footballing decisions, just seems wrong. Do they get involved in which end teams kick towards during 90 mins? Of course not. Just another dodgy decision that favours the home side. It should be a toss of the coin, if the Police can't control 9,000 away fans then they might aswell throw in the towel.

Exactly, thought it a bit strange and to be honest, as you say it shouldn’t make a difference.

Especially as there was no trouble at all during the game. It just seemed to give an advantage to West Ham, however marginal.

Then again, The Met can't even control a few hundred kids in Clapham so they're probably running a bit scared 😅

It can only be the rather, now out-of-date, 'Dirty Leeds' tag, though the fans I know generally take it as a badge of honour & fail to understand what BrianC would have given them.
What a draw though!!!!.... 1970 comes to mind...... even though our long left forumer, @Fish was on duty in NI for that Final.
