That's terrible....contact was utterly minimal and if anything initiated by the B'mouth forward dragging his thigh into the keepers toe which was high in the air due to his momentum. B'mouth forward was never getting to the ball that he'd just virtually kicked out of play.

GK didnt stop a goal scoring opportunity (striker had kicked the ball out of play). GK wasn't reckless or dangerous.

I can only imagine the law must be written that any contact whatever, just before a player goes to ground, is a penalty. If not, I'm shocked VAR felt the onfield ref had made a mistake!?

Actually, why am I lying? I'm not shocked at all. They'll be slated for it in the analysis, and next week they'll probably fail to ask for a review when the ref misses a clear assault by a keeper

Even worse being at a ground with no big screen so you haven’t got a scooby what’s going on 🙄
Well, they did AFTER the penalty was given at least. Hence the obvious reaction.

The Brighton manager didnt think it was a penalty, as he explained during his half time interview. I just can't imagine Sir Alex giving a half time interview back in the day.
