Who would you name that they might get, at this point? I'd also say that with the supply line Newcastle have, you don't need to be exceptional to score a good chunk of goals.
It’s a tough market at the moment in that position at all levels of the game. I’d certainly say Wissa is a good acquisition, but they’ve already lost 1 striker in Wilson who though was rarely fit was a decent player I’d say of a similar level to Wissa when fit.

As for the other options one I know they’ve been linked with and would be best case scenario would be Goncalo Ramos but persuading him to leave the bright lights Paris and the current European champions won’t be easy. But it’s slim pickings at the moment the striker markets a tough nut especially with clubs converting back to a traditional style No9 since Haaland arrived in the Prem.

Wilson is rarely fit and last season barely contributed. He was as much use as Calvert Lewin at Everton. There was no point in Newcastle keeping him, his time had passed. Wissa is a better option by some way, imo of course.

I like Mateta but Palace have enough to deal with at the moment without selling him as well. I don't see that as a starter.

It's tough out there at the moment, a proper striker is hard to find nowadays. I don't follow European football so I can't comment on players there.

I agree made no sense to keep sick note but a fit and inform Wilson is no worse than an inform Wissa from what I’ve watched over the years. Wissa is a decent player and will fit in well at Newcastle but I still think they need more.

I’m with you! I would say he’s a decent player not a great player. He had one standout season and his value has bumped up. I’d argue anything over 25m is to much for him but transfer fees are kind of irrelevant nowadays a players worth ultimately what a clubs willing to pay I guess.

But I’d argue there’s better options as a no1 choice than him. I’d say Newcastle need him and at least one more on top
Wissa is not intended to be Isak's replacement....he is Wilsons replacement. Also...its not just about his goals, its about his presence that will occupy defenders that will allow others to grab their share of goals. It doesn't matter not having a 20 goal a season striker if there are 4 players knocking in 10-13 goals each.

Who Isak's replacement might be is anyone's guess. Maybe Roy Race is available.

Mind makes my point correct then when I said about him and a for Wilson being of a similar level and Newcastle still needing another one in the door. I like both players and think they’re decent, genuinely think Wissa will be a good signing and slot in well to the team.

It’s just who replaces Isak as you say being the issue. Ramos is probably the closer to a like for like replacement but that’s big bucks other than that the choices are limited.

Newcastle could do worse than Vardy as a back up striker?
If a 38 year old Vardy is the best they can do (even as a back up striker) then they can forget about progressing.
He might have one more season in the championship in him,but he’s definitely not premier league anymore imo.
His game was all about pace & he’s lost that.

Was almost instantly rejected. Bee's are holding out for £60m.

Need to walk on. We didn't capitulate to Palace continually moving the goalposts last summer, we shouldn't do so now.

Prob get a deal done at around £45mil plus add ons

Not sure who else there is

Apparently arsenal are going in for Eze. That'll go down well at Spurs 🫣
Just heard it on the Radio

Apparently Eze met with Arteta and their DoF back in June ?! How can they do that my

Neilds (Rotherham) and Starter (Birmingham) post occassionally. Think Piece is a Watford fan too but doesn't post much these days.

The mighty Ding get everywhere 😅

I'm dreading the game tonight, was tempted to go up, watch it then stay with a friend and play The Manchester Golf Club tomorrow but decided to give it a miss and focus on the massive all dayer Saturday in Wycombe away. We've lost 5-2 there in the last two season, so let's hope it's not a hatrick of 5-2's! I have to say I've seen enough of Hunt to think he's not the one, losing Nigel Gibbs was a huge blow as he was the brains behind last season.

Bolton haven't been brilliant themselves but reckon it'll be 1-0 to them.
Just watched the 1st half. Bolton well on top I'm afraid. Odd time Reading have the ball on the attack there's a rush to pump it in the box without looking up
