Why did I think he was like 24?? 😂 I guess he made it to the big leagues pretty late. Anyway, defensive midfielder is what we needed the most, hopefully he can strike up a good partnership with Sarr.
So jealous of this signing, we were after him when he went to Fulham. Classy player.

MGW re-signing.
Marinakis rattling every single fanbase in the league
Dan Ndoye bought in as a club record signing to replace Elanga (and still made a profit from the swap)
Rumours of Douglas Luiz taking a pay cut to come and play for Nuno.
Still 5 signings wanted to bolster the squad.

I've gone from Concerned of Gloucester to We're winning the lot in the space of a few days. 😆

Obviously we're not winning the lot, but it's good to see that the areas of weakness are being addressed and we're bringing in players who can actually make a difference whilst being financially savvy.

The season (league 1) starts officially tonight.
The ladies Euros finished last Sunday and the Club World Cup only finished 2 weeks ago.
As fans do you feel it’s great we now get basically year round football or do you get footballed out and would like to have a break from it for a bit longer.
When I was a kid there was always a decent break between the last game of the season (The FA cup final) and the charity shield unless it was a World Cup or Euros year but somehow that felt different.
Would you like to go back to having a longer break or do you prefer the year round football we now seem to have?

I didn't realise lg1 started tonight

I do have a break. I didn't watch the Mickey Mouse World Club comp, I didn't watch the ladies either. Community Shield passes me by,, so my first football will be mid August.

You don't have to watch it if you don't want to, I have not seen a game since the last of the season, 25.05.

Now, the players don't get much of a break now. That is the bigger issue.

Indeed the real football returns this week! I’m with you not watch a game since the end of last season none of the friendlies or club world farce interest me.

The Mighty Royals take on Lincoln away in our season opener. My only annoyance is our first home game of the season is next weekend and just happens to coincide with me working my first weekend in 3 months 😒

It’s why I was more than happy that we weren’t in that club World Cup thing - the players all had their first summer off for a while

I agree that two of the top 6 got ehre undeserved, and that it is hard to get into there for any team because they can't pump in money.

But, I wonder what could happen long term to a club like Wrexham?
They are pumping in limited surplus of money, but a huge amount of publicity. They not having ManU, Liverpool or Arsenal cloud, but are they the next thing after them? What could this be worth? If a good player has the choice between Wrexham and Norwich, where do they go? Will that turn into Wrexham or Everton next, then Wrexham or Brentford, ...

I like our 50+1 in Germany, it's just 1 club that is wrecking everything instead of 6. And they currently don't get their way every time, see Wirtz going to Liverpool and Stuttgart playing hardball on Woltemade.
The thing is though that 2 clubs got there unfairly. 🤔Yet those two clubs still remain very successful. Both on and off the pitch.

Then look at one of the top 6. That being Utd. The brand is protected. It is a car crash of a club. So why is that protected to stay in the top six.

All Everton fans needed a break 😳
My mate needed counselling but he just got the P taken out of him by us!

Top Six is a myth.
Where did UTD finish that’s where they are until they improve on the pitch.

You don’t have to watch but you can’t escape the fact it is going on and I bet you were aware of the results?
I would of thought as an Everton fan the starting date for League 1 would be of interest to you for a couple of seasons time 😉😂

Being aware of the results doesn't really impact a fans "break" from football.

I was aware of the results, AND I even watched 2 or 3 of the England women games. Despite that, I feel I've had a long break from the primary football that I'm interested in, and I'm looking forward to the start of the season just as much as I ever have. Looking forward to watching the football on Saturdays, Sundays, MNF, etc. Sure, Man Utd may well derail my enthusiasm quickly. Nonetheless, I definitely feel I've had a very good, long break from football.

Hey, we've come out the other side now 😤.

As @Swango1980 has stated, it's on but it doesn't impact. Any football this summer has been white noise to me. I'm fully rested and will be match fit for the first weekend of the PL season 😄

Let’s see how Chelsea get on come Jan Feb.
The players havnt had a holiday.
Believe they were given 21 days off.
Let’s be honest all the top teams flog their players to death.
They can’t wait for the season to finish so they can fly around the world to sell their product.

Then they moan about too many games.

Maybe use your multi million pound squads better 🤷‍♂️

EVERY team in the prem would have been happy to play in the club World Cup given the money on offer.

Yes I can’t see any saying no!

But it must have an impact later on the players .
