Tuchel selected the players that everyone wanted and criticised Southgate for not picking them yet that was the performance we got.

Maybe it's about time we stopped putting so much of the blame upon the manager and started to accept that contrary to popular belief we are not blessed with particularly gifted or great players.

It was the same with the so called "Golden Generation" who achieved nothing yet it was always the manager(s) who carried the can.

Total rubbish. I only think Spain or France have a better first eleven than us and we've got a better squad.

His team was a complete mish mash.

The manager is the most important thing. I think you'll be calling for Davies head next season when you're in the bottom half by Christmas

I don’t know one person who wanted Henderson. Kane starting against Andorra 😖MGW On the bench. Nope not everyone wanted that rammel.
Good job Kane did start.

I agree about Henderson but in view of the opposition and the role he was to play his inclusion should not have made any difference.

My point remains that our players are not as good as the media would have us believe.

For instance the two starting wide men were much lauded and certainly had the beating of their defence but ultimately how many clear cut chances were created.

And the quality of first touch around the box was poor at times making it difficult to quickly move the ball forward. One of very few times we did Curtis Jones pass led to the goal.

Tuchel's post match interview made it clear that he wasn't happy about the lack of intensity shown by the team.

Yes the manager made mistakes but I don't agree that it is always down to him and the players are seemingly beyond reproach.

Well, it’s Senegal on Tuesday night at The World Famous City Ground.

With any luck, Tuchel will again leave the only two English nominees for 24/25 Premier League Player of the Season on the bench, so that we can get more of a look at Jordan Henderson. 🤞🤞🤞

I totally agree with you, the energy and vision required in this game is not coming from Henderson whose game is to protect the back four.
A back four v Andorra and a defensive midfielder. 😳
Every game is different and England have the easiest group they have had in a generation yet we still play the same way.
Tuchel has had three games to look at his players and people like Bowen must be wondering what the hell do I need to do to start.

Has MGW ever sat on the bench at the City ground before Tuesday night 🤬

If he drops Henderson, who is going to make Kane look quick?

Yes I think TAA should have played in Henderson’s role .
We needed someone to hit the killer pass behind their defence or the wide men ,not someone to protect a back four who had nobody to mark most of the time.

It’s Gareth mk2.

You're right a top class striker is a game changer but last season you finished 8th with the same issues and ETH in charge. You've actually gone two steps backwards and bought in Zirkzee.

For the umpteenth time, Zirkzee ........................ IS NOT ..................... a striker!

Well his main position is CF followed by second striker and then right winger

Indicates he's a striker

I'm done with trying to educate, people just don't listen. (y)

Have you actually done your research?

218 games as a CF in his career .. 12 as a second striker 4 as attacking midfield

A CF is a striker

So he is a striker

What you got?

Maybe he watches Zirkzee play, as I do.

Even the player himself says he’s not a number 9. So regardless of what position Sky Sports, MOTD, TNT or anyone else tells you he plays, I suspect the man himself knows best. And Zirkzee describes himself as a 9.5 - neither a traditional 9, nor a traditional 10.

Continue to argue the toss all you like, but you’ll actually be arguing with man who knows best. Joshua Zirkzee himself.

9.5 doesn't exist tho.

Considering that's tracking what position managers have played him in that's 218 games managers have played him as a cf .. IE a striker

He may be more of a play making striker but he is still a striker.

I got eyes.
I've watched just about every minute that he's played since joining United.
Have you? I doubt it.
Just because he plays in a strikers' position does not, in my eyes, make him a striker.
Most players look poor when played out of position.
I think he'll make a superb No.10.
That's his position.

So a second striker is the position you would think he would make his own? IE a striker who plays deeper

He is a striker. A play making striker but by definition the lads a striker

I don't think he's a bad player at all , he isn't the goal scoring striker type. He reminds me of sheringham striker who brings others into the game but you would still class sir teddy as a striker
