Palace mate is buzzing. We playing Thursday after my nights and he's well up for a celebratory lunch at the pub afters

That decision not to give Henderson a red is probably one of the worst in the history of VAR.

First it was shocking the ref didn't see it in real time. Then VAR has time to look at it and see it's a clear handball outside the box and blatantly stops a clear goal scoring chance. Haaland was intentionally creating an angle so he could knock it past the keeper and curl the shot in. You see players do that all the time and just because he wasn't running directly at goal is no excuse.

The ref made a terrible mistake but VAR bottled it as they didn't want to ruin the cup final with a red so early on.

The statement read out on the radio was var agreed with the ref that he saw it but wasnt denying a clear goal scoring op

Bit wishy

Why is no one talking about an absolute terrible ref/ var decision? It’s one of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen . He punched the ball away outside the box stopping Haaland taking the ball around him . Henderson goes on to motm . Take your biased glasses off , would you be happy with that decision in a cup final ?

If the ref saw it, surely it's a foul and a yellow at the minimum? Seems like Howard Webb is trying to spin this and limit the fall out.

We have all spoken about it 🤷‍♂️

What I don't get is the process.

I could forgive the ref, if he wasn't sure it was handled outside the box, as he was head on, rather than watching along the edge of the box. Linesman usually has the best line to see it from.

However, VAR is unforgivable. They have clearly seen it was handled outside the box. Surely the process should be that they ask the onfield ref to go to screen, to decide whether it was a goalscoring opportunity? They made that decision themselves, thus removing the opinion of the onfield ref.

Sorry the statement said the ref missed it and var deemed it's not a red so couldn't do anything about it ie free kick and yellow

Shame it will dominate the chat of the win

That has been the main talking point along with Palace winning
