"Three foreigners rule" I seem to remember it being called.

Was it just for European competitions or did it apply to domestic games too?

It was definitely for European for years - at one stage it was just one when abroad

But don’t think it was for league games

And in those years GB players were all counted under the same flag

Edit: looks like Alonso is taking the Real Madrid job

I think some/a lot of the rumours are not started by the clubs but by the players own agents and 'people'. If they can make the player seem to be in demand it strengthens their hand in any contract negotiations and improves the agents cut of any deal.
What a massive coincidence that MGW was on their short list before our FA Cup Semi clash, and now City are due to play Crystal Palace in the FA Cup Final and all of a sudden they're interested in a £120m SWOOP FOR PALACE MEGASTARS EZE AND WHARTON..

Definitely not rumours released by the club to unsettle their opponent. Nope, no sir, definitely not.

Top goalscorer in the league

Top assists in the league

He has been key to us winning the league

He had 90% of the votes

Clear standout
He's finished the season very poorly though. Three goals since February, and two were penalties against Southampton. The other was against Spurs and everyone scores against Spurs.

I saw it somewhere - maybe even on this thread - suggesting that he lost form during Ramadan, which would be reasonable given that he cannot eat or even drink water in daylight hours I believe, so it would be much harder to perform. Ramadan started end of February so that tallies up perfectly this time. Although he didn't resume scoring in April when Ramadan ended. And looking back over the last two seasons, he didn't seem to drop off during Ramadan in those years.

There is something in the Ramadan stuff were I think it will have some effect

But even then the longest he went without with an assist or goal was two games in the league
But I don’t expect anyone these days to go through a whole season without any periods of loss in form

That’s all true.
But he’s been woeful in a lot of games.
Usually the ones he dosnt score or assist in and dosnt have a highlight reel to make him look good.
Just saying what I see.

“A lot” ? Really

It’s a record breaking season in terms of goals and assists - he will break it or has already broken in

At times I can understand oppo fans looking for negativity about him but it’s rare I see you look for anything but negative about him

He hasn’t had “a lot” of woeful games at all

I disagree he has.

How many are you talking about here

6 games out of 35 league games were he hasn’t either scored or provided an assist - 28 goals and 18 assists - 1 away from the record

7 CL goals and assists combined in 9 games

3 goals and assists cominied in 5 EFL cup matches

In 49 games this season he has scored 33 and 23 assists

How can someone get phenomenal levels when they have a “lot of woeful” games

Your entitled to your opinion.

But even in games he’s scored he’s been crap for 89 mins.

I think that's down to him conserving energy, like Ronaldo did. He seems a total different player to what he was 6-7 years ago.

And it’s something that Slot has told him to do

He doesn’t have to worry about tracking back etc just conserve the energy for the right time - it’s given him one of his best seasons in a red shirt , multiple key involvements.

Yeah, 28 league goals is the second highest in his whole Liverpool career, only beaten by his very first season. And there's 3 games left (he's 4 goals behind that season's total). I think 18 assists beats most of his previous campaigns as well. He's had an absolute new lease of life under Slot.

ClubChamp just doesn't like him because he doesn't work hard and track back, and because he dives. 😄

Yea, I just touched upon it too, but under Slot they've often been playing more of a false nine like Gakpo and letting Salah just be an out an out wide striker seemingly.

To be fair he isnt even the best attacker the Scousers have had in the past 20 years

I don’t see many Liverpool fans that don’t rate him or like him 😂

I see him definitely breaking Henry’s record
