Just watched the “highlights” on Sky Sports.

Two very obvious observations. First, if United cannot convert those chances they don’t deserve to win matches. It’s that simple.

And what part of “clear and obvious” do those employed as the VAR every week not understand? I’m not convinced there was an error to begin with, but even if there was it was a million miles away from being clear and obvious, and as such there should have been no VAR intervention.

After all this time, still they are not getting it right. Not even close.

Think the “clear and obvious” has been thrown out right out of the window this season

Far too many times ones VAR involved for “subjective close calls”

If it takes the onfield ref 2 minutes to review the monitor, you have your answer. He was terrified to disagree with Michael Oliver

There was meant to be a higher threshold on VAR this year, and try to stick with the onfield ref more often. One of the explanations VAR was impotent when Fernandes got sent off.

Pretty sure VAR has intervened less that it had done previous seasons, but I'm sure Oliver didn't want to have a full game with nothing to do. Man of the Match for me

And I’m sure Oliver didn’t ask the ref to go to the screen “just to get involved” 🙄
