Goalie appears to run into defender, not the other way round.
I have no problem with the goal, the defender's not obliged to get out of the 'keeper's way.
First time I saw it I would agree.
But having looked again the striker sticks his hip out into the keeper And doesn't go for the ball.
I think the keepers a bit weak, but just about a foul imo.

No, not at all. He gave it and got it right. But if he was wrong (which happens a lot) he'd be crucified for sticking flag up immediately. That is the whole point of delaying the flag if linesman thinks it is tight

We’ll have to agree to disagree on this one.

If it’s clear enough to give it after Ederson has been clattered to the point where he has to go off injured, then it’s clear enough to give it before that happens.

The fact he gave it does not mean it was clear to him at all. He immediately gave offside a little later, he was obviously clear on that one.

On the incident we speak off, maybe he was 70% sure it was offside. Maybe 80%. So, he WILL give offside when phase of play ends. But, as he wasn't 100%, he didn't flag immediately. Otherwise using VAR for offside completely breaks down. And, as I said, he'd get crucified if it turns out the 30% onside should have been the correct call

If a linesman can’t see that is offside he shouldn’t be out there.
Hes looking right down the line.

Another stupid rule to suit VAR.
It’s always very tight when it comes to offsides of that nature and the naked eye at times just won’t be sharp enough and it’s been shown quite a lot that in the past many flags going up have been wrong and at times when a player is offside flag not raised - VAR is at least good for offsides when they sort out the semi automatic one

I disagree that’s not tight for a PL Lino.
There supposed to be the best.

City trying to pass the ball into the goal.
I tried to send a photo when pass was played, but file too large. It was very close, with Ake. There was also a Newcastle player near linesman who could easily obscure his view.

I think fans think judging offside is much much easier than it actually is when doing it in live action.

Seemed to be ok when all the FA cup games had no VAR.
