Exactly. This is the west ham way...
On the amazon coverage, I thought Mccoist (sp) was excellent. Why can't all the pundits be like him?
Also, we don't often get proper refs for our games, so it was a relief to get oliver.

Not sure arsenal fans will agree but felt he got all the big calls right today

The goal you can't tell if it's in or out so has to go with on field

And that saka pen A he was buying it too much and B was a foul on ogbonna from Jesus so glad it wasn't given

Just talking to an Arsenal fan in fuertaventura. He is devastated. More so coz he has been Bessie pals for the last couple Of days in the resort with a couple of West Ham fans 😂😂😂😂

See that really boils my ..

Just reading acon players last game today for us. Ghana meet 31st December

No do one. Your tournament (which shouldn't be mid season) is 13th January

You should have to wait until the clubs are ready .. say the 5th .

We pay their wages , plus really makes me cross when ones been sick for 3 games and suddenly will be fine to go play in acon.. nope if you can't make your clubs fixtures you should be banned from call ups . Clubs first

The answer is simple, don’t buy African players.

You sound like one of those entitled fans you were moaning about just the other day.

You shouldn't have to not buy players from an entire continent tho, when there are some cracking talents out there.

Plus Acon was rightly moved to the summer then shunted back because of what part of Africa it's in this time

It's bad enough it even happens mid season but why have to release players January 1st onwards when the tournament starts January 13th? Surely after the round of next fixtures would make perfect sense to release them.

On the second point about injury it's always a bug bear when a player misses games then suddenly is fine for country. This time aguard has been sick (COVID) however before the world cup he had never played a competitive game for us due to a bad Injury in pre season. Yet went to the world cup.

Edit, acon 2025 is back in the summer. 2027 is back in the summer aswell

Just this delayed 2023 is the issue.

Brighton won 😀

My wife actually watched our game last night (I say watched she did her nails and said wow your doing well) anyways when the spuds were 3-0 down she saw and laughed because her best mate is a spurs fan.

I was so proud 🥲 lol

Should be a good game on the 2nd when we play you . I doubt we will win after 2 fantastic wins on the bounce a fall is always on the cards. I'd take a draw now!

The AFCON is a terrible tournament. Happens far too often for it to be credible.
Historically African teams have been massively underrepresented in the World Cup and I think this feeds into why they have AFCON every two years; their nations need something to play for.

AFCON, clubs know when it's happening, who is likely to qualify, who they are likely to lose. No point whingeing if a club has loaded it's team with players that will be absent. It's just bad planning 🤷‍♂️
. respectfully disagree.

Even Ian wright has said coach's have been known to not sign African players because of it. That's wrong. You shouldn't have to avoid a continent of players .. clubs are happy to sign south Americans and them to play the copa America in July. It's classic discrimination

Acon in 2017 was moved to the summer going forward to avoid clashing with normal seasons .. this is the 2023 tournament and was moved due to the weather last year.

Next one is suppose to be the summer but is set to clash with the new extended world cup

It isn't discrimination at all. AFCON choose when they hold the tournament, it's 100% their decision. That decision has consequences, consequences they must be aware of.

If I was a director of football I'd be signing the best players I could but in the back of my mind I'd be aware of tiredness of South American players after qualifiers and absence of African players for AFCON. That's common sense. I'd be buying some, but not an entire team full of either.
