I agree it was right he was booked but the problem was he was right, it was a Utd throw in. I was asking the lad what would happen if Liverpool had scored from the throw in.Would VAR go back to the throw in 🤔 I honestly don’t know
No. Once play is restarted, VAR can't go back and ask a ref to review an incident that happened before that

Most stop when booked 🤔
Let's talk about consistency then. Nunez barges into Evans, ref stops game, and Nunez kicks ball away. Nunez gets booked for foul, but presumably ref let him off for booting the ball away. Then, Nunez walks off, looks over to ref and starts to applaud him sarcastically.

Could have had 3 yellow cards, but sure, he isn't going to do that to a Liverpool player at Anfield. He might not even have done it to any player earlier in game. But to send a Man Utd player off at Anfield in injury time, he can make himself a legend with the crowd and potentially avoid too much controversy.

No idea why he acted as he did, but the sending off was petty beyond belief by the referee

Do you know what the player said to the ref? I doubt it was gentile. Was it worth a yellow? Yes, and that’s just for the physical protestation without knowing what he said. Was it worth a red? I don’t know because I didn’t hear it but the ref did.

As for Nunez earlier in the match; for me that was a minimum yellow. But did he book him for the foul or for kicking the ball away? If it was for either, then he should have had a 2nd yellow for sarcastically applauding the ref.

I’m all for players playing with passion but when it spills over into dissent I’m all for a booking every single time. I want to watch football, not petulant temper tantrums.

Regarding the last bit. I want to see football. I also want to see passion. Sure, if a player starts berating a referee, book him and have a proper word with him.

Dalot didn't berate the ref. He didn't have time. He threw his arm towards the ground in disgust / frustration with the wrong decision. Immediate yellow. Whilst he was still highly charged, did the same again. Second yellow card.

I won't move away that it is pathetic a petty from referee.

The only problem is that next week it'll go back to the refs ignoring it and not booking the players for the same thing and then we'll all be complaining about the lack of consistency again. I'd fully support refs taking this action as long as they keep doing it. Don't do it for two weeks and then go back to not booking or sending players off for it.

Or how about doing it for one player but not for another IN THE SAME GAME?

Wasnt you telling others only a couple of weeks ago to accept the referees decisions?

Blame Nunez as much as you like, Dalot is an idiot. The ball came off him and it was a clear throw to Liverpool. He remonstrated it never did yet continued to argue.

I've no issue with refs clamping down on dissent but when we've seen the awful scenes at the Etihad where numerous players were in the face of Simon Hooper and nothing gets done about it, we cant complain when nothing happens in other games.

To be fair the last touch was from Salah judging by the replay on Sky

Or just talk about players following the laws of the game

Don't act like an idiot don't get booked and then don't carry on

Pretty simple

I was never ever saying just accept the referees decisions, as clearly some decisions are wrong. I simply don't claim bad decisions are due to corruption.

There will be hundreds of incidents where a player throws their arm to the ground in frustration when ref makes a bad call. I'm pretty sure most will be accepted as normal frustration and not get booked, let alone get booked twice in quick succession.

But Nunez has shown the right way to act. Just applaud sarcastically to the referee for decisions you don't agree with. Sarcasm is clearly better than visible frustration.

Yeah i agree, when i raised the exact same gripe only a few weeks ago, i was told by quite a few on here to shut up and accept the refs decisions......

Without knowing what the player said, as per the first para you quoted, I don’t know if he warranted the second yellow.

Ah the corruption shout eh??
You claimed that Liverpool got sub concious bias decisions :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:, is that not corruption?

Nunez being stupid doesnt make Dalot's reposne ok. He needs to take responsibility for his actions. The last touch was off him.

Clubs, managers, players were all warned about dissent this year. If any lack the intelligence to take that on board, up to them.

Just from a simple point of decency it's pathetic and embarrassing. Abusing officials isn't passion, try that line with the refs association at local level.

If thats the case then I stand corrected, i was on row 83 of the main stand so although it was below me it looked like it came off Dalot from where i was.

Irrespective of that Dalot only has himself to blame.

Refs dont change their minds after they make a decision.

Do you know what corruption is? There has to be some sort of strong conscious decision behind someone doing corrupt things.

Never heard of anyone being subconsciously corrupt

TBH, I watched it on Sky. Although the commentators said it came off Salah, I wasn’t 100% sure.
