You must have seen me comment on this thread before, and I've replied to just about everyone. Is Liverpoolphil off limits now, he can comment without reply? I wasn't even having a go at him, I just didn't agree that Spurs would easily beat Utd and Chelsea, due to the limited football we have seen thus far

Don’t be daft, nobody is off limits…..unless you’re a mod 😂

I love footy. I love sports in general , but these past couple of years the money being thrown around makes me feel sick.
People starving , homeless, and dying yet billions is being spent on players in this stupid game.
Spot on. Dad always says football was the closest thing we ever had to a religion in our family. For most of the last couple of decades though, most things about top level pro football just sicken me a bit.
Luton v WHU on in the background at the moment. Cracking little football ground, it looks like. I'd quite like to go to a Premier League match there.

Carragher asked if surprised with JWP not getting a call up. Tripping himself up to say anything positive

Should have said well Henderson shouldn't be there .. considering he plays in the farmers league

JWP follows up with another excellent corner ..2-0 job done

Alvarez looks to fit us better than rice .. we needed someone to just sit and do the dirty work

# are you watching Declan rice # rings out again 😂

JWP has played 4 games this season (1 for Southampton 3 for us)

He has 1 assist for Southampton 3 assists for us and a goal for us

Too good for England 😂

My honest opinion.
Henderson is a squad player at best now.
Hes not required to do 90mins anymore.
JWP would be a better option in the squad.

But it’s not us that needs persuading, unfortunately GS is in charge.

Honestly don't think he is even a squad player now

He's not playing at anywhere near the top

When was last outfieldplayer capped from the championship? Wasn't it David Nugent??

I'd say the championship is a league above the Saudis in terms of depth

Gravenburch deal all done - certainly been a big refresh in the middle , some very bright young players arriving - think still would have liked to see a young defender come in

See Lavia has said that he wanted Liverpool but agent pushed towards Chelsea due to the financial rewards

Yes we need someone with pace at the back who can defend.

That won’t go down well with the Chelsea fans.
If he wanted Liverpool that’s what he should have done.
He would not exactly be poor playing for the Reds.

So, over the past few days, Forest have signed Montiel, Santos, Murillo, Tavares, Dominguez, Hudson-Odoi, Vlachodimos, Sangare, Origi, and Omobamidele. Looks like Steve Cooper will have a similar job as last year in trying to meld them into a squad. Although perhaps not as hard a job as some othe Premiership sides. On the down side, Johnson has has left - gone to Spurs. A shame, and sorry to see him go. As per Aztecs recent comment - just hope he doesn't get sidelined like Djed Spence did, with his talent wasted

Where was it reported that Lavia said he would have preferred to go to Liverpool? It seems like a hell of a statement to make just after joining a different club, even if it were true I'm not sure why a player would admit to such a thing?

I’m not exaggerating when I say, this is the best transfer window I can ever remember for Forest.

Last season was about signing quantity and seeing who stuck. We struck gold with the likes of Awoniyi, MGW, Niakhaté, Danilo, Mangala and Aurier.

Then there was those who looked good on paper but just haven’t worked out (Freuler, Dennis, Shelvey, Scarpa) and those who were signed as emergency injury cover (Ayew); and those who were signed as contingency for if we went down and were loaned out (Bowler, Hwang etc)

That left us with huge gaps in the squad that needed to be filled to strengthen to PL quality. I figured we would need; GK and LB (to fill Henderson’s/Lodi’s shoes after their loans), CDM to bolster us defensively and help link up play, CB x2 as we were thin on quality in that area (McKenna just isn’t good enough for the premier league sadly), and some additional striking options to back up Awoniyi.

And we’ve done just that, and then some.

Turner and Vlachodimos are arguably better (or at least as good as) Henderson and ended up costing us the same for both as it would have cost us for just buying Hendo.

Aina looks great at LB already and Tavares fits the attacking LWB mould we are after (and replaces Toff if he’s banned)

Sangaré, I’m still wondering how we’ve managed to sign him. A world class CDM who has willingly left CL football for the Forest project and who could be the catalyst for changing the entire way we are able to play football. Bringing in Santos on loan to bolster that area as well is a great move

CHO has obviously been bought in to fill the void left by Brennan, which won’t be like-for-like but at £3m, it’s a risk worth taking (as the sale of Brennan has allowed us to afford Sangaré, most importantly), and Elanga servicing the left side in a similar role looks dangerous already. Origi will provide perfect depth for Awoniyi.

Lastly the CB pairing we’ve bought in, in Murillo and Omobamidele look like decent bits of business.

There’s not one area of need we haven’t strengthened with quality and depth. And in most cases, fees are very sensible.

13 signings in, and 27 outgoings, is exactly what was needed and feels like we’re trying to make the next step. Which we couldn’t have done so quickly if it wasn’t for the £50m we’ve had for Johnson. Just perfect timing all round.

Pressure will be massively on Cooper to deliver now, as he’s been given the squad he was after.

Henderson is stopping better players gaining experience. Some have said Henderson is good for the dressing room. Players that are picked have plenty of dressing room experience. Kane is captain, and I’d expect him to ensure new players are integrated.

Do you have any links for this Phil?
Seems a crazy thing to say IF he did actually say it 🤔

It looks like Iwobi is off to Fulham for 'up to' £22m. He is in his last year at Everton so that is a decent deal for us. He has done okay the last two seasons but he is not so critical that we can let him run his contract down.

@fundy your fun is over now :ROFLMAO: . To be fair, once we stopped expecting him to be a lightning winger who would score 10 goals a season he turned out a decent player. He just had to find his role. Good luck to him at Fulham, he owes us nothing.

You finally got him to look half decent then sold him lol, not sure you had much choice at £22m though. Assume you keep hold of Gray now too?

Could be a long year for the blue side of Liverpool

Bet you struggled to keep up yesterday!!!

Some cracking signings in there, especially Sangare and CHO could be an utter snip at that price, very very talented.

Get used to holding your breath with Tavares, will look great at times and scare you rotten at others

Going to take a while to piece together the team again but look to be in a much better position than plenty of other sides
