You make it sound like you had a summer of chelsea or forest recruitment Phil ;) cant think of anyone bar Nunez you bought and played straight away?

Definitely been a reaction to previous seasons exploits, but an upgrade in midfield and probably another top class defender wouldnt go amiss this summer, should have plenty going forward

The change of Núñez and Mane was prob a lot more than expected when Núñez moved over to the left after Diaz was injured - thankfully he is back so hopefully see a change of Núñez through the middle.

But as you say the exploits of the previous seasons have taken their toil

Certainly can see two midfielders arrive and a CB - Matip leaving prob along with Keita , Ox and Firmino

Hopefully a good summers rest for the players and start afresh next season - but signings will be key to go again.

England squad today

I half expect a re-call for Watkins who has been in fine form post World Cup, especially over the last 8 or so games.

Tyrone Mings also in with a shout, Emery has really tidied up our defence and England are weak at CB.

Very interested to see if Toney gets a call up or not! Should be the clear 2nd choice for England but the betting thing might make Gareth overlook him.

Zero chance he picks Toney surely

Be quite happy if he has no interest in Ramsdale, White and Saka tbh

Well Saka is deffo getting the call, he's a starter for England!

Ramsdale likely called but may only play 1 if any

White - who knows with GS but he deserves a call also :ROFLMAO:

If there are any going to be surprises with a Southgate team, now may be the time. Thinking about leaving after World Cup, he has decided to stay on. Fresh start. Had much criticism, so he may look to make a few changes. IF he does, perhaps I see:

Following players losing their place:
Maguire
Dier
TAA
Henderson
Mount
Sterling

Players, such as the following, getting called up:
Dunk
March
Burn
Tomori
Toney
No doubt missing other good candidates

I suspect in the games, Kane will be up front, with Rashford and Saka left and right. Shaw left back, Tripper right back (maybe Walker) and Pickford in goal. Not sure how he'll go in other positions, Maybe he'd keep Mount to play in centre midfield, but wouldn't mind seeing Grealish or Foden there

Serous question, has he actually played any football recently? As in starting for 90 minutes rather than injury sub etc.

Perhaps a serious question is has he ever played football…:ROFLMAO:

But in response to your question, I can’t remember him playing for weeks & weeks

Be interesting to see what side Arteta picks tonight and how important Europa is deemed. I get the feeling with Palace at the weekend and then its international break time that he'll pick a stronger team than the first leg and maybe close to full strength. May need to against Sporting

It’s Gareth Southgate 😂

He has shown to have zero flexibility in any area of his management

Shouldn’t be any surprise to anyone

It’s beyond amusing that Walker and Toney are in 😂
