Sheffield Wednesday are in big trouble.

On top of all the nonsense with the owner and the manager/players leaving. They've had one of the stands closed due to safety reasons, so it will reduce the capacity by 10,000 or so. Amazingly it isn't the horrible Leppings Lane end but the newer side stand. They've got 4 years to sort it out or it will have to come down.

Can't see them surviving and relegation will lower th value further, just have to hope the owner cuts his losses and sells ASAP.

I was there, felt we were a bit unlucky!

Missing 3/4 of our first choice defence. Clear penalty not given, clear goal ruled out for offside and we dominated possession and hit the post twice. Kelvin doing Kelvin things and missing sitters. Defensive line was a bit high and our central midfield was too attack minded but early days.

Just watched the highlights. Not as bad as the reports I saw made out, 1st goal takes a huge deflection giving keeper no chance. Nailed on penalty not given and couple of missed chances/decent saves from Lincoln’s keeper could’ve or should’ve been a very different game.

Despite the loss I’m feeling positive , may even invest in the new shirt I’m weirdly liking how different it is.

The shirt would be better with white shorts, looks bad with blue! That said I've got all three shirts for the collection 😅

Elliot and Wing were a class above, once we get the defence back, bring in a proper striker we'll be right up there. Lane looked very good too.

I’m really liking the shirt, definitely would look better with white shorts but I won’t be doing a John Terry and going full kit………

Will pull the pin tomorrow and buy one as a pre birthday present for myself or convince the Mrs to buy it for me 😉

I think we’ll be ok if we can cover off that Centre forward area and keeping our back line fit. Trying to get some
Tickets sorted for a few home games ,
Sadly I’m working next weekend though for the first home game.

Well despite my last positive post. Today makes it back to back defeats for the not so mighty Royals! I’m actually glad I couldn’t make the game today not sure I’d wanna see that. Still waiting to see the highlights before passing full judgement.

It was better than last week but not by much. Burns missed a free header to go 1 up, then minutes later gives away a cheap corner and they score from it. From then on we were poor.

Danny K looked good and Jacobs is a huge upgrade at LB. I've seen enough of O'Mahony to know he's not good enough and we have to play Kelvin there from now on, at least until we sign a serious striker.

I was really deflated by the whole atmosphere today. The new owner have spoken of huge changes to the stadium facilities but there was absolutely nothing. The pitch looked really poor around the edges too. I know it was an early kick off with small away support but to get only 12,500 is shocking.

Not sure what you are expecting from the attendance but that is right on the average from last season. Would kill for 12000 at the New York Stadium as it would mean we were full :)
Also, not sure if you have got the same Lewis Wing that we had a few years ago on loan, but he was bang average then.

Attendance wise the numbers aren’t to bad for the league and how our clubs been run in recent years. Since Covid we’ve averaged at 13,400 but the last 2 seasons there’s been a drop of and we’re seeing about 1500 people less through the turn styles.

Lewis Wings performed pretty well for us since 2023, something like 19 goals in 80 ish appearances. Which considering all we’ve been through it’s a decent return. But we need more up to and hopefully we’ll find it soon.

After a very, very slow start to the transfer business, the mighty Boro have been busy in the last two weeks. 5 players in but 1 very good player out. There’s talk of more to come but, understandably, the other clubs are playing hard ball, either on price or they don’t want to sell. But there’s also talk of losing our star man, Hayden Hackney. His stats for last season were excellent, as were his performances for England U21’s.

3 matches in has seen 2 very good wins, especially the last one against a very tough Millwall. The 0-3 doesn’t flatter Middlesbrough effort but the nil to Millwall doesn’t reflect their opportunities. A great match for the neutral.

However, the cup match at home to Doncaster highlighted the lack of depth in the squad. Typically, it was almost a 2nd team picked for the game, with a number of players needing to prove their credentials to the new manager. Fringe players, some of which were first choice players not too long ago, just didn’t shine. No bite, no cohesion, ponderous and second to almost every ball. Losing 0-4 to a team from League 1 that was also made up, predominantly, of fringe players was woeful.

After feeling nervous, and an expectation of finishing around 14th, I’m now cautiously optimistic. UTB…

We've sold nearly 10,000 season tickets, up around 1,500 so with it being the first home game I thought we'd get 14,000 plus. That said August is always a poor month for attendances outside the PL. We had 13,700 for the game against Wimbledon last weekend.

That's the same Wing, he seemed to mature into a serious player once he left Boro and stopped going on loan. Probably a wake up call? Without doubt one of the best CM's I've seen for Reading. He's now Club Captain and he's scored at least 10 of the best goals I've ever seen in person in just 2 years.

The mighty Millers threw away another lead last night against Bradford to draw 2-2. I would have taken a draw against the top team at the start of the match but to be 2-0 up and not hold out is gutting. Apparently we have thrown away 10 points from winning positions so far this season. No wonder we are currently languishing in the relegation zone.
On the plus side, was a decent performance and players are begin to return after injury to add a bit of depth to the squad.

What did you think of us? I thought we were poor throughout the team but you did a great job on man marking Neufville and closing us down very quickly. It might have been a different game if we'd have scored one of Swan's chances in the 1st half. 1st half I thought you were really good.

I thought it was difficult to see who was top and who was second bottom. We need to learn to close games out, 10 points lost from winning positions so far this season.

First away win of the season for Rotherham Utd and now 3 games undefeated. Still in the bottom 3 but hopefully things are taking a turn for the better and we can put a good run together - especially as we have a derby match against Barnsley coming up in a few weeks.
