HID does a great Christmas dinner even though she stresses way too much. Only me and her as it is most years and the way we love it. Her parents are in San Diego at HID's sister, my mum is being well looked after by the neighbours and her friends from church and as an only child no bros or sisters. We have new neighbours both sides so not sure what they are doing and might invite them round in the evening.

Off to see my mum on the 28th and then off to some friends I've not seen for a few years for another Chrimbo dinner. She is a great cook but always does too much. Me and her husband will probably have another Aunt Bessie yorkie pud eating contest as I did him 16-14 last time and he's not forgotten

Voted Chicken as it's all my missus will eat.

I think it's called a Capon (sp?) but it's just a big chicken.

Normally have about 10 to cook for, and sprouts is a must!

Love Christmas pud too :)

Think I'm just gonna save myself and skip the starter, soup, main course and go for a quadruple helping of cheesecake!

Having chicken as I'm so bloody bored of having turkey every year. Sat down to some lovely chicken roasts this year and said to the missus "Can't we just have this for Xmas with some sausages wrapped in bacon?" and she agreed - RESULT! Hate turkey it's like eating moist balsa wood!

I believe that a chicken is female of the species, a cock is male, and a capon is a eunuch i.e. a cock with it's dangley bits removed. And very tasty too - the capon that is, not the dangley bits

Followed by New York deli style vanilla cheesecake.
Cheese/pate and crackers in the evening.

We have got turkey & goose for xmas dinner. Wifes uncle is a farmer and deals in all things edible so we have both.

Roast spuds, pigs in blankets, sprouts with pancetta, mashed swede, roasted parsnips, yorkie puds. Love it.

For desert I have made a really nice & zesty dundee cake, with this I will have double cream with a bit of grand marnier whipped into it.

I am pretty keen on my grub it has to be said so xmas dinner is awesome!

Quadruple cheesecake portion ? No sense in cutting back, I would just go for the entire cake, preferably topped with strawberries !

I voted "other". We always have duck. You can't beat it. Turkey is like tastesless bread.Goose is too fatty for me.
Love sprouts. Try them cut up in small pieces and fried with garlic: delicious.

If the in-laws are willing to change the time of their dinner I will be having Turkey at the hotel my parents run at around 1pm followed by a chicken dinner at the in-laws around 5! :D

Two Christmas dinners is the only way to do it.

Round my brother's for the day however I'm cooking...how did he manage that??!! Only cooking for 6 of us but they love my chestnut stuffing and the way I cook the turkey.

At least I should be let off the washing up though...I hope!
