I'm 60 next month and we're renting a big house in Devon for the family. Can't go further afield as our hound is too old to be left. He also limits the decent dinning options as not everywhere allow dogs.

Had the suggestion of having the birthday dinner in the house catered by a private chef/catering company. Had some really interesting proposals after a bit of Googling.

I wondered if anyone had done this snd has recommendations or advice.

My lad was “ pals” with a guy who was a chef at Stuart Broads pub. The one that burnt down. The stuff he makes is gorgeous. I half approached him re doing a similar thing for Missis Ts 60th last year.
As it happened it never materialised much to the relief of my son. There’s reasons behind why but am not gobbling off on here about it. I thought it was a fantastic idea but finding the right person is the key.

I've got some names and quotes... but getting testimonials seems harder!

Put the names into the Facebook search bar. People love taking pictures of food and, with a bit of patience you should find plenty of referrals.
