Sorry up front cause I'm sure this is asked a lot and I swear I read a post last week about it but can't find it now!

I'm getting fed up losing Titleist Pro V1s so looking for a cheaper alternative. I don't want really cheap, I love the feel of Pro V1s... but surely there's something similar for less money?

I go on ebay and buy 36 bulk packs of grade A balls, be it srixxon, titleist, etc and save laods of money.

The balls are normally in great condition, except for slight scuffs or custom ball marks.

There are Pearl grade balls available too at cheaper price than in store. If you are like me and fed-up of losing half a dozen balls on tougher courses, these balls are perfect.

Thought about buying lake balls?

Scottish Golf Centre the other day. Dozen ProV1 lake balls for £17. Or two dozen for £25. I snapped their hands off. Look as good as new.

Oddsocks gave me a Wilson DX3 Soft ball to try out.

They seemed to go a good distance and weren't too bad around the greens, even better when you consider the price he brought them for.

The NXT tour is a good ball that I use in the winter and probably comes in the premium price bracket so that is out. The Wilson is about the same price as the Srixon AD333 but better all round in my opinion.

E6 for me as well, decent length, good around the greens & nice feel off the putter (they were £16 a box on directgolf the other day so I bought loads of them in nicely understated yellow)

I am working my way through a dozen e6s at the mo (in even more understated orange) and though they seem fine in all the ways mentioned above I find the peculier half arrow alignment aid a bit of a pita. what's wrong with just a plain line for pete's sake ??

Prefer to buy "Mint" or "Pearl" grade ProV1s off of that there eBay, sometimes it's impossible to tell the difference between them and a new ball, and if you have the patience can easily be picked up at £1 a ball.

Don't feel so bad about leaving them in the bushes...

I bought 12 Nxt tour from eBay a grade, had a couple of pen marks but practically like new, £3 plus £3 postage. Bargain. Think seller is ping eye or something, got loads on there.

Think i'll try a box each of E6s and AD333s - cheers for the advice guys.

Why try a whole box? What about just getting a sleeve of different balls and having a whack with them until you find one you like. Personally I have never got on with the AD333 prefer the NXT tour but each to their own!

I really like the dx3. Great ball at a silly price.

I think a lot more people would play them, or at least try them, if they didn't say "Wilson" on them.

I much, much prefer them to the ad333.

Must agree with above never get on with ad333 but using up the ones I have left! Mischief prefer the Nxt tour too although more expensive in the shops!
