The Best Club You've ever owned?

Mine has to be a putter! It was when Odyssey first came to prominence with the Dual Force Rossie 2 putter. It cost me a small fortune at the time, quite a number of years ago, but made such a difference to my game.

Strangely enough after a hiatus of over 10 years I've just picked up a set of clubs to get playing again, and there in my Father in Laws garage is my old Odyssey putter! So pleased to see the little guy :D

an old regal sand wedge nicked from my da's set. i was magic around the greens with it. used it for every wee chip. got my handicap down from 18 to 16 as it improved my short game to no end. hes since banned me from using it so ive moved on to a regular 56 wedge. ill never forget the help that wee club gave me. i still take it out for the odd spin when im practising but as mentioned before by smiffy, the magic has gone and we've both got new lovers now so life goes on. lol its kind of like a golf romeo and juliet story.

Following on from the "Best Iron" Thread, I'm posing the question what was the single best club that you've ever had, be it an Iron, Driver, Putter or whatever. What club made made you happy consistently.

For me it's my old Ping I3 6 iron I loved all of those sticks but wasn't experienced or talented enough to use them back then, I'd love a go on some now just to see!! The 6 iron was a fantastic club, I hit it pure nearly every single time.

Just wondering what club is your favorite ever?

Hasn't been made yet!

It's a toss up between 3 clubs for me,

R11 driver- started to hit it beautifully with a lovely slight draw and good length

11 rescue 4- again, straight as anything, really struggled with this club for a very long time and almost binned it off, but am really falling in love with it now

60 deg wedge- hit 3 pins with it this week, just loving anything within 50yrds now, am confident I can get down in 2 from this distance almost everytime(in my head at least!)

Without a doubt my current driver, the Cleveland HiBore. Love it to bits, and can't see my head being turned by anything else any time soon.

Wow...tough question!

I can get this down to 3 clubs quite easily but picking a winner isn't easy.

1. Callaway GBB titanium 4 wood
2. Callaway X14 2 iron
3. Cleveland 588 53* wedge

Stupidly, I sold the 4 wood, seemed like a good idea at the time.

I think I'm going to plump for the 2 iron. Great off either tee or the fairway, great penetrating flight and always goes straight. My 'go to' club when it's windy.

I'd say there were 2 individual clubs which instantly made a difference to my game.

Odyssey Dual Force Rossie Putter (I see someone else has also mentioned this)
Callaway HawkEye VFT Driver.

Tough one....

Either

- The Wedge (just labelled "Wedge") from my grandad's old blades that I played with for years in my youth and used this one club until 18 months ago
- The old persimmon 3 wood from the same set of hand me down clubs
- My current 17* Mizuno MP CLK hybrid. A superb club that I am ultra confident with

The 56* KZG wedge I bought from here will be up there soon, a great club

Got to be either my 2ball DFX putter which completely cured my yips which I'd had for quite some time. I have never lost confidence with it.

Or my 51degree Cleveland 588. Could play all sorts of shots with it and was very confident from a number of distances 100 yards and in. Only reason I changed it is the grooves were gone and the shop where I bought my new irons chucked in a new Mizzie R12 wedge.

My Ping Anser 2 from my halcyon days back in the 80's. Lost faith in it when I came back into golf and dabbled with spiders, two balls and the like but went back to the traditional style and putting great again

I still use one to this day! So solid, they've never changed the design yet, other than the insert.

Best club for me was my killer whale driver with firestick shaft a la John daly. Couldn't hit the thing for toffee but i remember at least 10 folk queuing up for a shot, including the captain at the first tee. I was the most popular guy ever for 5 minutes...
