Following on from the "Best Iron" Thread, I'm posing the question what was the single best club that you've ever had, be it an Iron, Driver, Putter or whatever. What club made made you happy consistently.

For me it's my old Ping I3 6 iron I loved all of those sticks but wasn't experienced or talented enough to use them back then, I'd love a go on some now just to see!! The 6 iron was a fantastic club, I hit it pure nearly every single time.

Just wondering what club is your favorite ever?

3 clubs fit this bill, all have been in my bag for several years which in itself is a novelty

Ping G10 hybrid: Great club and so consistant. Can never be upgraded as new Ping hybrids are ugly.
Orka FK2 wedge: Great feel and simply the best wedge I have owned. Sadly now not available or would have a full set.
Taylormade Fontana Putter: Tried others but nothing is as deadly from 5ft as this.

My putter without a shadow of doubt. A centre shafted Odyssey #9. I very rarely take more than 30 putts... love it.

i'd have to say my 8iron, i can hit it strait, but i mainly love it for my approaches, if i have clear line, i will bump and run, my up and down ratio has improved alot

close 2nd, is my putter, 34" nike method core drone, havent 3 putted with it yet, that said i only had it for 3 rounds, but the confidence i have with it is massive compaired to my old putter

A Billy Casper putter that I used for 40 years.
Also my first 5 wood, a Ben Hogan. I could make that wee club dance. I had a lovely set of 1,3,5. Hogan Woods and traded them in for a pile of Ping junk. FOOL.

Easy one for me.

Mactec NVG2 draw driver that I currently have.

Prior to this I could either slice the driver or hit it straight. Mostly slice hence the forum name.

With this baby I either get a nice draw or it goes straight. So as long as I am aiming right side of centre I either end up right side (straight) or centre(draw). The odd time I will get a bit more draw and end up on the left side. Not the longest but its help me hit the fairways

R11s fairway wood or my 2 ball putter. both have changed those parts of the game dramatically. Everything else may have been or the good (or detrimental) but those two were night and day changes.

Callaway Great Big Bertha!
Nothing has ever come close in terms of the monumental leap the club made to my Driving!
They are still no slouch today

A Patty Berg 6iron which I had as part of a set I made up from odds and sods picked up from different places.

Ahh, that'l be my Callaway Great Big Bertha 3 wood. It was the first Titanium club I bought for the pricely sum of £349 I could hit the thing miles and never could find a driver that was longer. I might even take it out for a spin again now I've remembered how good it was/is.

£349 for a 3 Wood????!!! It had better have been worth the dosh at that price

And that was about 12-15 years ago. It was when Titanium was first being used in woods and manufactured in the USA not like these Chinese imports nowadays.
Ok that makes a bit more sense but still a steep price for 15 years ago!

Best club for me is my Taylormade Z-TP 52 degree. It's my go to club for everything inside 100yds when the others fail. Never hit a bad shot with it and it just give amazing feel.
In the past the honour was held by an old Ping Eye 2 SW that my dad handed down and it was another faithful deadly.

It was my Ping G10 Driver. I loved it. So much confidence with it, and used to hit it really well. Then the G15 came out and I stupidly thought it would be "better". So I sold my G10 and bought the G15. Couldn't get on with it. I tried, but it was no good.
I sold the G15 and bought my G10 back off the mate I had sold it to. But too late. The "magic" had gone.
Prat.
