Played Steve's place today with him and Neil (Neil20). I played with Neil at the Grove in the Golf Monthly Powerplay,he's a really nice guy.

Lovely day...a bit windy. We played American Stableford (6 points per hole with the scoring either 4-2-0, 3-3-0, 2-2-2, or 4-1-1) - lowest score gets reduced to zero after each hole to keep the score tidy- it's a great format for 3 players.
Fundy stated his intentions by blasting a hybrid off the first tee around 250 leaving him an 8 iron into the opening par 5!!!!

We had a great laugh with some good banter and some good golf....I managed a 2 over gross front nine courtesy of a couple of long putts to hold a healthy lead going into the back nine. Just as well, as I had a couple of dodgy holes on the back nine.

Final score was 21-12-0 with Neil adopting the new forum name, Neil Zero!:D

The course was in great nick for the time of year and Steve and Neil were great company.

Crisp fivers were handed over in the bar, (thanks guys! :p ), and a sausage bap and chips was washed down with a well earned pint of the Amber nectar.

Hoping to hold a return match at my place soon.

Thanks again guys.....:)

Hey - we were there too today - didn't see you.

We tee'd off about 9,20...

Oh and I parred the front 9..........

You could do with getting down to my track Rick...

Well its all right for some. I was sweating over a hot computer all day - well someone had to keep the " I know its tradition but its still annoying" thread going!

Chris

so its true rick, you dont work!
...cheeky beggar!!:D
I actually started work at 4 am this morning thanks to a Price Waterhouse Cooper audit. Was able to make a 12 o clock tee off with Steve and Neil.
Might look at doing a 4 am start on a regular basis so I can play in the afternoon. Would probably choose a Friday though...

Hopefully me and Pieman will put him off suitably tomorrow with heavy banter :p.... failing that I'll hand over the fiver I've already prepared :mad:
