If the expression 'stay off the green' means 'leave your ball where it is as it will help me' and the other player agrees then In stroke play, if the Committee determines that competitors have agreed not to lift a ball that might assist any competitor, they are disqualified. (22-1b)

Incidentally, this is where terminology does matter as it is not clear whether you mean Partner (as in matchplay) or Fellow Competitor (as in strokeplay)
