Anyone currently use Taylormade Aeroburner Fairways? Just looking for a few opinions regarding ease of use and forgiveness?

Considering getting the HL option is both the 3 and 5 wood as my current 3 wood is never used other than from the tee so i thought a 16.5 lofted fairway might be of more use to me than my current 15 degree club.

Currently play the Aeroburner irons which I am very pleased with the extra distance I get from them

The fairways seem to be picked up for a pretty reasonable price now so looking at either these or the Callaway XR's

Tried the 3wood and it felt terrible and didn't like the sound of it. Went a good distance but I wasn't happy with sound or feel. Currently waiting to try a demo TM m2 & ping G fairway from my club pro although might give the Callaway XR a try.

I play the areoburner hl 3 wood. It goes like a rocket - sometimes too far even. Easy to hit off the deck and tee when I put a decent swing on it. The only negative for me is it does sit a little closed so you have to be aware of this when aiming your shots. Other than that you would have to try one out, loads of places still selling them in stores. Be careful with your gapping though like i said it goes a long way and I can get close to my driver with it if I'm ripping it.

My pp bought the M1 Fw Today and i have to admit it was pretty awsome.

i play mini driver 14' and love it off the tee on a tight hole.

and has got me to many a par 5 when the ball has been in a good enough lie..
but mainly use my Xhot 5W off the deck.

ive tried the 3HL Aeroburner and yes its very nice 15 was a bit low for me too

I only know pro's and two plus handicapers that use them and the general feedback is they fly high and long but fall like a brick and stop

When I went to Wentworth the fitter in the TaylorMade lab said the rbz fairway is still the best

Yup got the 5 wood and it goes like stink. Not the best sounding but I never hit a few from the tee only on 2nd shots, it's very easy off the deck. Consider the sldr s as well that sounds better.

Was the fitter a guy called Luke from Yorkshire? I was at a TM Demo day last year and was told the same as you regarding the rbz fairway.....by Luke.

Iv tried both the XR and aeroburner in all variations (HL, Tp etc etc)
I did have my heart set on the XR but the aeroburner is just so so long and it's really easy to hit off the deck. It's got a really nice low face and the large speed pocket really does help off the fairway.

as others have mentioned the sound is really really odd - but who cares when it out performs pretty much all other fairway woods in distance and forgiveness

oh and it has a fin
do any other woods have a fin. ?

I have the Aeroburner 3 HL. I don't really use it off the deck as my own course is fairly short but it's great off the tee. As others have said it can be very long and not far off my driving distance at times. And it makes a loud ping noise which gets some strange looks at the range.

I don't use a aeroburner fairway but similar I use the aeroburner 19deg hybrid I can rip this thing it's so easy to hit and it just gives a solid whack when hit and the ball rockets off it so I bet the 3 wood ect is exactly the same they're great clubs .

I've always found the aero burner / RBZ models quite awkward to hit. The shafts are longer and the shafts very light. When you catch them, they go a country mile, but it's consistency rather than a 1-10 shot we all need!
If your set on them, I would look for one with a none stock shaft....

I have rbz 3 and 5 wood with whiteboard shaft. Bullets!!

I have a RBZ-2 5 wood and its quickly becoming my go to club!

I also have the hybrids 5-3 which are great on the range but i dont use them so much on the course.

longer than what?

longer than what?

Think he means the tm fairways are longer than other manufacturers. The rbz 3 wood standard was an inch longer than my nike covert 3 wood

He's also right about the stock shafts. Incredibly cheap and flimsy. I'm no shafr freak but putting a whiteboard in mine made the biggest difference to any club I've seen or owned

Not that impressed with them to be honest. Claim to hit it further, well they go further because of the longer shaft. I find the longer shaft takes away from some of the control and the shaft, like others have said, feels cheap. I have recently picked up an R15s 3-wood and it is fantastic. So much easier to control than the longer shafted AeroBurner, sits nicer behind the ball and you get the advantages of the adjustability.
