Taylor Made Golf Burner Plus Irons

Hi All,

Long time reader of the forum but never really contributed. Starting to get back in to golf after about 4 years away. Prior to giving it all up i bought a set of Mizuno MX19s but never really "fell in love" with them. I never seem to hit them as crisply as my old McGregor set and there is just something about them i cant put my finger on! I know it sounds daft and im probably just looking for a reason to buy something nice, new and shiny.
One of the main things i dislike about the Mizunos is the massively thick sole on them. Can anyone give advice if the Taylor Mades are decent and if they are worth giving a go?

You will find that the Burner Plus Irons have thicker soles than that MX-19s. They are very much super game improver irons. Regular Burner Irons have slightly thinner soles.

Can only echo what is said above. I have the burner 09 irons which are a good club, best thing todo is find a range with a good selection and hit as many makes and models as poss. If your after thinner soles you could look at the r9 irons and also the new cb and mb range, depends on your budget

If you shop around your find the 09 burners at around 300 new, but there seems so good deals out there, Nike doing s good mid range set. I'd just try as many as you can. Direct golf do good end of line deals, cally x22 were about 300, just depends what you want club wise, Gi, super Gi etc

Shop around and consider second hand. The Burner have quite thick toplines to look down on too especially compated to some of the Mizzy models etc. If you are looking at a GI set then perhaps try Golfbidder as a resource (they tend to be a tad pricey) and look at the main makes (TM, Mizuno, Ping, Wilson, Callaway, Yonex, Nike etc) and see what is out there
