Talking to your ball...... and does it listen?

Not talking to it today but had a 12 foot putt that should have come from left to right so as it was travelling I was leaning almost at 90 degrees thinking that that would help it. Must have worked as it went in.

I agree, leaning is much more effective!
I sometimes try telling my ball to move left or right during its flight or to stop when I've thinned it for the umpteenth time. I reckon it's slightly more effective than when I call one of my dogs as she goes suddenly deaf when she spots a deer or a squirrel.

Ah, the thin is a waste of stress on your vocal chords. Thought I was Phil today trying to flop a shot over the bunker from the rough only to thin it and shout be lucky as it sailed OOB into the lane.

I don't understand whats funny?

The alternative is hitting the ball then looking away? Is it not better to actually try and follow the ball after you hit it? Surely you will see where it lands, if its in the rough you might find the ball easier if you do!

I bet if you can find a ball rather than taking 3 off the tee you will score lower!

You could try hitting the ball and watching where it goes? No need to talk to it as well, I've found watching where it goes more than sufficient and a very effective tool to employ if you want to find it again after you've hit it.

Does "Oh s**t!!" count as talking to your ball?

If it does then in answer to the OP I would have to say yes, I talk to my ball quite often.
