Summer Holidays

This link, https://www.abta.com/news/coronavirus-outbreak, taken from the golf breaks thread in the Lounge, reads as if we'll be entitled to a refund if the trip doesn't go ahead, and we don't choose to rebook - I've just looked at it's £500 more for the same holiday next year, I'm going to call and offer them the opportunity to move it for the same price, or I'll take a refund.

We were going to Cape Verde end of May with Tui, all paid for long time ago. No refunds from Tui, only rebooking allowed is what they have told us. So we have, for 1 year later:)
Pretty sure you are entitled to a refund.
They will be trying to get customers to postpone to save paying out.

No mate, still in limbo. From what I found AA are only changing flights booked from March 1st to the middle of April.

Love have a form to fill in on the website. Filled it in,with the hope of changing the date to June 21. Was generically rejected.

Until they open themselves up to talk (Sounds easier than actually is, need more government guidance etc etc..) then we just have to assume things are going ahead as planned ??

what date you going Dave?

That option is not shown anymore. However, I am happy to rebook for next year. This year will be a wash out, so to have next years holiday already booked and more or less paid for is a bonus tbh.

We are booked on a cruise first week of July. Only paid a deposit but HID is prepared to lose it and cancel the holiday.
That's the position that we were in but were able to move the holiday back by one year and don't need to pay the balance for another year. Hopefullly by then things will be sorted and if the company go under we won't be too out of pocket. Originally they were going to charge another £200 to move the holiday but thankfully those rules changed.

I read today that American Airlines have cancelled all of their European flights until October (they're still running flights but thru BA, and only to London) Big news for us, as when we had to change flights last time, Love offered us different flights/a holiday voucher/full refund.

a bit of a weight off if im being honest

Great news that Davey, what's the verdict?

An update on mine, TUI are now saying that any holidays due to depart up to & including 14/05 are now cancelled, and they will be in touch - my position remains the same, if they'll move back 12 months for the same price happy days, if not I'll get a refund, may end up re-booking but if I do at least I'll have the money in my bank, not theirs.

Have you spoken to tui? How are they to deal with?
