I'm teeing off tomorrow at 8am.... isn't that before the sun even comes up? :D

It's the first comp I've played in over 12 years and definately the earliest start in my life! I'm going to have to get up 20 minutes before I even go to bed :p

What time do you like teeing off.... If you're an early bird just how bad is it at 8am?

I'm off at 8.14 in Sundays medal. Was one of the first to put my name down but would rather go out early and get back home in time for lunch rather than cock the whole of the day up.
Prefer to be out early before the greens have been walked over by everybody else
;)

We usually play at about 0815-30 and I get to the course about 0730-45. These days its just about ok to start some practice at 0730 but its still a little 'squinty' on the eyes.

I dont like late golf (after 0930) it seems to mess the day up and for some reason it just doesnt 'feel' right

I had a 7:21 tee time in last weeks comp, first group out.

Couldn't follow the ball all the way off the first tee, but was ok after that.

The advantage is you have less people in front holding you up :)

I'm not a morning person and wouldn't do it out of choice but I had to be somewhere else by dinnertime.

I try to get one of the early slots if it's a comp, somewhere between 8 and 8.30. Let's me get back home in time to keep the family happy too.

Teed off in the gloom at 07:45 last Sunday, couldn't see the ball beyond the end of the teeing ground off the first, lucky it was a straight one!!

Was off last week at 7:20,would have been ok if it wasn't for the fog. Same again tomorrow. Think it might be slightly too early though.

Competitions start at 8 so normally pretty good for the first starters at anytime of the year including winter. The proble will come if I get drawn early as I don't think it'll long before its a struggle to warm up and see at 7.30am

Luckily I'm off at 9.20 tomorrow and 9.30 on Sunday

You'd have loved playing at Crowborough Beacon then!!

Many's the time I teed off at 8.00 on a Sunday and you couldn't see 100 yards in the mist, which didn't normally disperse for an hour or two.
It was a bugger playing that first hole and not even knowing where your ball had landed.

We were quite lucky to be fair, the fog had cleared by the time we got to the 3rd tee.

I enjoy an early tee off,the freshness appeals to me. It has nothing to do with finishing early enough to get in the boozer for the lunchtime saturday football,honest....

I love playing early in the mornings, if I lived nearer to a course i'd be up at first light trying to get a round in before work in summer. But im up for work at 5.30 everyday so not much chance of that.

Ok, so that's the early ones, how about the late one? My brother lives in Dubai, they have a course called Nadal Sheba (or something like that), it surrounds the camel racing track, front 9 inside, back nine outside, loads of water and fully floodlighted, we tee'd off at 10.30PM, after a couple of very nice and very cold G&T's, that's late in the evening and a damn sight cooler, it still averaged 80 degrees at that time of night, can't say it's a great way to play, anything going to high above the floodlights get's lost in the blackness. Boy though it's just great to play it!! Out there you have to get used to really late nights or even early mornings!!

Have teed off at 7.15 the last eight weeks although it was a bit later last week. Thank goodness tomorrow is last day at this time. You start off ok but by the 13th your body realises that it should stil be in bed.

Redwood - Trethorne is a really nice course. Good test of golf. Was a member there for a couple of years!

The tee times at my old course Yelverton were determined by the sun rise. As soon as you could see the flag on the first you could tee off! Have been waiting on the tee at 6 in the morning!! You do get great views of dartmoor at that time though, quite spooky with the mist

Ahh that's where I learnt to play golf as a kid, look up "tough opening 2 holes" and it will have a picture of 1 & 2 @ Yelverton!! :D
