Mr Hip, that seems very late. What is the thinking behind that?

Apparently it's always been that way. The main reason appears to be to allow the pro shop to oversee all starting times, so the first starting time is when the shop is open. Not sure how that stops anyone going out earlier though but will be talking to Mark in the office on Thursday to follow up.

First time at Bedlingtonshire is 9am.

Is that a winter thing. I know we allow our pros to open the shop at 8.00 in winter but they are expected to be there by 7.00 in the summer and the clubhouse is open from dawn. Seems very late to start people on the course especially with restricted light in winter

Yes. It's been 8am during the season.

In the summer months my pal and I often start at 6.30 and are round by just gone 9.00.

This time of the year we delay until 7.45 to 8.00 but competitions aside, there is no formal limit.
