Stupid O'clock - early tee times?

Went to work this morning 6:30 am following a car that turned into my course!!!!!!! 6:30 am and a few more cars in the car park.Hope they were golfers and not flashing headlamps behind each other. it dont get light till 7:30ish

Stromness Golf Club on the Orkney Islands sends the first lot out at 5.30am in their open. It's the only way you get 120 players round twice in the same day - with 3.5 hours off in the middle.

played at 07:30 on Saturday, just about light, but there were already people on the first green when I drove int he car park at 7. Could barely see them moving around in the early of light.

Tend to play earlybirds at 7:30 during the summer, but since I get up at 5:15 every day of the week for work, having a lie in until 6:30 on Saturdays before going to play golf is a luxury.

Usualy play at 8.30 ish saturday and 8am sunday for the winter league, although i must say i have enjoyed a couple of rounds this year with a late start 3pm then enjoyed a couple of beers after. If i start early its usualy just a coffee afterwards.

I tee'd off at 8.14 yesterday morning. As it turned out, I wish I hadn't bothered...
Although it turned out to be a gorgeous day, brilliant sunshine, blue skies and not a breath of wind, it was freezing first thing.
There was ice on the lids of the rubbish bins for the first couple of holes.
No ice on the car windscreen though and the ground was nice and soft.
