If you want to have a crack at a lesser lofted 3 wood without spending a 100 quid plus, try looking for a Callaway Steelhead Plus 3+ wood. These are lofted at 14 degrees and have an excellent feel and flight. I have the 5 wood and it is a fantastic club. The clubhead is small, but I prefer this as it really nips the ball off the turf or semi-rough - the sound is fantastic as well when you middle it!

Just checked EBay and there is nothing at the moment but they come up pretty frequently - expect to pay £30 or £40.

Cleveland do one in the 2009 Launcher series - I've got the 17 degree 4 wood and it goes a mile. If I hadn't found the Launcher Driver I'd have gone for the 13degree strong 3 instead.

Cleveland woods are very good for distance and IMO if i was getting a strong 3/2 wood i would look at the cleveland or Nike as both are forgiving and go long!!!
