Strengthen up a lawn for summer

Generally, the major purpose for having lawn is to have a low maintenance 'green' area!

If it takes more than regular cutting, an occasional feed, de-moss and/or spike, then it's failing to perform!

Grass is a very hardy and tolerant plant! Let it do its own thing! Too much interference can cause more harm than good!

made a real effort two years running when we first got the house, but after a winter of no grass growth, it looked like i hadn't bothered.

That the problem up here, very clean air and the moss is the only thing that prospers over the winter.

usually recovers by May, and then same again by the time winter has kicked in.

we have a very tree shaded back garden which promotes moss and a sloping free draining lawn at the front which gets full of thatch

back garden always gets zillions of worm casts which makes the back garden look like The Somme until the grass starts to grow. This year we had a wormcast treatment and it is fair to say that the grass looks the best it ever has done at this time of year.

we gave up on Green Thumb as a bad job a year ago and now use a company called Lawnmaster.

Even allowing for Kent being the garden of England that's a serious amount of winter growth...

Managed to get a last of the season cut in during November... So, still a couple of weeks before I need to get the mower out for me..

Why would I make it up? We been really quite warm the majority of the recent time.
My eucalyptus tree started showing its buds back in December......
