Strange scorecard query

So what other rules do you choose to ignore, any rule violation could not be enforced in scrambles, it is up to players own conscience.

Well....having a team of 4, picking the best shot and all playing from there for starters.....

Edit: Not trying to say there's a right or wrong answer, just that different teams will interpret the "close to line" differently and therefore it will maybe be unfair to some degree. I just think it's easier all round (oh and more fun) to just get on with it. 90% of rules and penalties don't even enter into it because of the (crazy) format (eg hit it OB and it doesn't matter, kick your ball and it doesn't matter....just choose another one). So don't see that one more departure from real golf rules makes much difference. The game is a load of tosh anyway in the grand scheme of things. Each to their own I suppose.

At ours it is, we have a A4 printed sheet giving all the comp rules / conditions specifically quoting rule 14/2b, on display at the starters desk .

14-2/b has an easy "get out of jail" card doesn't it.

Postioning of Caddie or Partner Behind Ball

A player must not make a stroke with his caddie, his partner or his partner's caddie positioned on or close to an extension of the line of play or line of putt behind the ball.

Exception: There is no penalty if the player's caddie, his partner or his partner's caddie is inadvertently located on or close to an extension of the line of play or line of putt behind the ball.

"Oh sorry I was inadvertently watching the putt from behind".
