Storing clubs in the garage.. any damage?

My main set is stored in the locker at the club. My second set and spare clubs are stored in the garage and I do notice pitting on the chrome shaft of any clubs stored in the garage. I have tried to explain this to HID but not getting much sympathy really.

As for the shafts getting cold and snapping when you hit them. Really? Maybe if you dipped them in liquid nitrogen but not at freezing temperatures. If you're worried make sure you give your shaft a damned good rub before use :D ;)

do you advocate a lubricant when rubbing your shaft Ste?

Never really thought about this before, but can see the downside of keeping them there.
Although I managed to leave the garage door fully open over night twice !!!we have an integral garage. Luckily the clubs were still there in the mornin, along with wine, spirits bikes etc.

Slow day in the office, so here is the question.,.

Most of us store our clubs in the garage or other unheated places. As the cold weather sets in, does this inflict any thermal wear and tear on clubs? I am assuming exposing the steel shafts to freezing weather and then using them to hit the ground during a round is not going to be too good..

thoughts on a postcard...

My clubs would never live in the garage, HID knows this!

Search on you tube for the video comparing cold balls to warm balls. They kept a ball in the fridge all night as you would in the car with an evening frost and one indoors in the warm. The carry difference was huge!

Keep ya balls warm people

Just read this - anyone storing their clubs in a garage is a complete fool!! The damage, the irrepairability, the suffering it could cause is just too much to consider.

Good luck - maybe try the boot instead!

how is storing in the boot any better than keeping in the garage... it is equally cold overnight...
