There are rumours that this will be the final season that Steve Williams will be on Tiger's bag. How do you think this will affect Tiger and will it hinder his chances of reaching his target (18). His transition from "Fluff" to Williams seemed pretty seamless, but he may have just got lucky there.
Or do you feel that a caddie doesn't make THAT much of a difference?

On a different note, why does Williams insist on taking his bib off when he walks up the 18th? Its as if he wants to be seen on the same level as the players and not a "lowly" caddie. IMO.

Think this time tiger would find the change more difficult but im sure at most it would affect only a few tournaments
as for the lube, the mind boggles!

This was rumoured a few months ago and Darren CLarkes caddie Billy Foster was tipped for the job. Foster has caddied for Tiger before in the Presidents Cup when Williams was unavailable.

To answer Atticus question i don't think it will make any difference to his quest to beat jacks 18 majors.

Personally, I'll be glad to see the back of him. Don't think he has a good influence on Woods. Did you see his bitching with Tiger at the US Open at the pace of Richie Ramsay's play. He has obviously disappeared up his own....what kind of lube was that again?

If I ever feel the need to but some engine oil in the future, I shall endeavour(sp?) NEVER to buy Valvoline. I don't like the guy. He seems to think that he's a cut above the other guys. A bit like his master it seems.(I don't doubt that HE is though)

Agreed. He has ideas above his station, trying to become a celebrity on the back of his employer. He has a face you'd want to slap with a wet fish. Reminds me of that ar*e Paul Burrell, claiming he's something he never was on the back of someone else's fame.

Who else is there except Michael Campbell and a couple of All Blacks? I reckon he makes more than Campbell (but not in 2005 of course).

He has got to be the best paid sportsman as there are only about 6 people who live in NZ. He's probably a massive celebrity down under with his own Hello magazine shoots. SAD. All the caddies, apart from Fanny, look miserable as hell. John Daly's caddie at the Open was having at right pop at the crowds at the Open for no apparent reason other than he wasn't getting paid that week.

Not much to debate here - Steve Williams is a pratt. Full-stop.

One of the greatest moments in recent golf was watching him fumble Tiger's 9-iron into the lake at The Ryder Cup last year. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person. Could only have been bettered if Tiger had sacked him on the sport and carried his own clubs for the rest of the week.

It's fair to say that five minutes in the pub with him would be a waste of 5 minutes of your life. Happily, you can't say that about a lot of people.
