I wonder if the failure is common with players who hit more off centre hits. My bad strike is low heel, I’d expect the carbon insert in the eye after 2-3 rounds.

Based on guys I know I’d say it’s more common with players who go to the driving range every week.
I don’t know anyone who has broken a driver head any other way.

Agreed, I would not be hitting my shiny new carbon faced driver at a range with those tees and brick balls.

A range that I use often had delivery of new balls and promptly had to put up signs warning players not to hit woods until those new balls were replaced - they were rock hard and multiple people had damaged their drivers! (Didn't helpt that it was winter..).
