I am just trying to get a couple of mates of mine interested to see if we can make up two fourballs.
I don't know the best way to pay for this though....do I pay for all of us on my credit card and you sort it out with me on the day or do we phone Old Thorns individually and each pay our own?
I'm quite happy to put it on my card but would hate to do it and then somebody not turn up!

Well we've got 4 definites from the site so far, a mate of mine has just sent me a text to say "count me in" so that's five. If you come along that will leave us just trying to find two more.

I've just heard back from a couple of mates of mine and they have also said that they would like to come along.
So basically Flandango, if Leftie is still willing to come we now have our 8 definites. Hope this is OK with you?
Obviously if Leftie decides that he doesn't want to come after all, your mate is welcome to join us.
I just wanted to make sure we could get eight players before I went and booked the tee.
Subject to your confirmation, I will go ahead and book both tee slots on my card and you can sort it out with me on the day on the basis that any "no shows" will still have to pay me as I don't want to end up out of pocket. I think this will be better than 8 of us trying to phone up and book which could possibly confuse things.

PS My mates are all good guys and although they love their golf they enjoy a good laugh too.
Handicaps range from 12 to 16.

If I am reading Flandangos post correctly, it looks like he is saying you are in mate. So I will add you as the definite 8th person.
I feel a little guilty bringing 3 of my mates, I really wanted this to be a forum member thing, but my initial post didn't look like it was going to draw the required number so I had to bite the bullet. I hope that I haven't upset anyone doing this?
So I will phone the Club this morning and book the required two tee times.
Will post on here tonight and confirm.
Now all we have to do is keep our fingers crossed for decent weather on the day! You will thoroughly enjoy it, the course is great. Lots of superb holes.

Coffee on arrival, 18 holes followed by "Chefs special".
I asked if the chefs special was a pkt of crisps and a bowl of soup, the guy there said as it was Sunday it would most probably be the carvery.

A very good question Leftie, and one that I had omitted to ask!
On previous visits I haven't had to dress for dinner, they are fairly laid back.... but I will contact them over the course of the next few days and confirm.

We will also be aiming to get there about 10'ish.
