After all the bad weather lately,WOW, unbelievable turnaround in fortunes.
The course was in fantastic condition, and after the bad weather weve had, well
done Burnham and Berrow for producing a great course.
I think most would agree its hard but fair.
Well done to all the guys who played, all arriving safely and on time.
Thanks to all the guys who pledged prizes, they were very much appreciated.
I have took some pictures of the day and will post sometime soon in the pics section.
Of course there will be bad luck stories of what might have been, but there can only be one
Southwest King of Kings regional champion.

I for one am delighted that Pokerjoke won, well done T!!!!

This means that there is now a guaranteed extra place available at Hillside. I will be launching a ballot for this and any other available places after all of the regional qualifiers are finished.

Looking forward to the pics. Tony- could you email the originals mate?

Also looking forward to hearing about the good/bad/unreal stories from the day.

Good - Fish, if KOK was 17 holes he would be champ.
Bad - Me, jetlag, international golf is tough.
Unreal - Srixon1, what a player.

Cheers to Pokerjoke for organising and sorting the weather.

Fish hit two ropey tee shots all day. Unfortunately they were both on the 18th hole. First one went miles left and the provisional went miles right. (Lost both). He's not going to be playing off 20 at the end of this season that's for sure. Unlucky Robin, at least you will have local knowledge on your side next time.

Well done pokerjoke , Nice day , nice course in good condition with all this wet stuff about , not often do you hit driver , 3 wood to a par 4 or nut a 3 wood to a par 3 , its a course you have to play a few times to get to know the lines into the greens and off the tee , its the 1st time I played it and look forward to it next time , good score today steve , nice meeting everyone ...................and able to put a few more faces to names on the forum ............................EYG

Channo & Hallsy...my playing partners, were great lads and both returned good scores. I think that they both managed those scores with an 8 on the card. Great lads, with incredible wells of patience...

I was struggling along, enjoying my tussle with the course (but losing)...and then 17 happened

Par 3. Long enough for me to think "park the ego, nice gentle driver is the shot, with a bit of fade"

Nearly worked.

Found ball in well. Ok, not a well, but a bunker deeper than I have ever seen...Out first time! Over the green. And then back and then....repeat as required...

to cut a long story short, I missed the putt for the 8:eek:

9 on a par 3:thup:

A Hamlet moment...
