I don't actually drink that much in Ascot. The pub I was thinking off is just outside Bracknell and is a nice country pub with an open fire, good regulars and a nice selection beers. For those staying in Bracknell it would be a 5 minute cab ride from any of the hotels, B&B's or trave lodges. I'm having a chat with the landlord to see if he might put a bit of entertainment on (band etc)

Not sure yet, just an idea I'm trying to mute round. The pub has a number of groups on a regular basis. Some are guitarist/vocalists playing along with backing tracks and some are full on bands (normally 4-5 piece). It may come to nothing so don't get overly concerned.

Bracknell is 5 mins from Golf but it does have 2 (or maybe 3 now) Travelodges and one is brand new....its a hole though...some good places in Ascot....there's a place called The Forresters which is a Premier Inn place which is okay and closer to Ascot......

Homer what pub are you on about and then we can tell them where is closest to stay......

The pub is the Plough & Harrow in Warfield. I know the landlord so he is looking into maybe putting some music on. If not still a nice friendly pub and is literally a 5 minute taxi from the travellodges. There are also two premier inns (The Weather Vane and Downshire Arms). The Forresters that Sammmebee refers to is on the London Road and is midway between Bracknell and Ascot.

I only mentioned Bracknell as a stop off point because of the number of travellodges and premier inns. It is only a 10 minuted drive to the course.

AliB you are more than welcome. I was hoping you could perhaps persuade Barb to play as well. I also want to see the look on Mr B's face if you beat him again!!!
