So you think your Looooooooooooooooooooong

neither of them are the thinking woman's bit of crumpet. there isn't much going on between their ears!

I'm too clever for my own good ..and I can hit it miles!

.......unfortunately unlike Dustin or Bubba I have about £4 in my bank account :whoo:

Ok just did this and i can do it and mabe get a little further back with the left hand and there is a twisting effect but im not sure my abs and back muscles would thank me for it after a few holes.....Here's the thing....Its practically impossible for me to achieve that turn without my belt buckle facing in roughly the same direction as my left shoulder......

I can feel the power and the coil but it feels completely unnatural.

That's weird because really there isn't any power OR coil. There's nothing elastic in our bodies whatsoever, once there you could probably stay there all day. There's no force apart from any pulling you feel on your joints...which ISN'T healthy for them!

I can practically get my shoulders round to 180° although I know that in reality (as I tried to explain) it's all smoke and mirrors, you can't get your shoulders more than maybe 50° at most past your hips. It's practically the same move as touching your right toes with your left hand... the spine 'appears' to turn more than it is in reality.. because you don't notice just how much the hips are turning and tilting, the shoulders roll and you add some side or forward tilt in there too. If I turn 180° and pick up a cup of tea I'm not worried that i'll suddenly fling it across the room with a sudden unexpected whipping action :)

Wull 1.4 was my lowest, I'm not that now (I gave up for 7yrs) I will be by the end of the year though if I can avoid injury and put in some range time again;)

.....how about now?
As PM-ed, Hips seem to turn more than I thought they would (60-70* so must be some lean) therefore still 60* of total separation - minus some for the cheating shoulder dip/leaning.

Maybe it was the Tour Issue Matrix (Code 8) Tour Stick!

Great drill though!

thats right i remember seeing in another thread about how you were down to 1 then back upto....either 5 or 6 i think,i can't remember.

Yeh I quit at 1.4 because I'd spent 10yrs on the range trying to hit the ball with a square clubface and hooking it all the time. Idiots (that'll be qualified idiots I hasten to add) were saying things like "If you want it to start more right then you've got to swing more from the inside" or "roll your wrists like a tennis shot" and who'd have thought they didn't have a clue? I had an awesome short game though.. and I can putt.. well sometimes ;)

When I came back 3 yrs ago I was given 5.5 off 3 cards (despite a card of 3 over).... and then proceeded to only play 5 comps in 18 months due to injury... went up 0.1 each comp  which leaves me where I am now. But all the time I've been back i've learned as much as I possibly can about all the different types of golfswings, MORAD, TGM, One plane, S&T, Right sided, you name it, Biomechanics, swing forces, how to read trackman stats things I never even wanted to learn and i've spent a lot of time over the past couple of years debunking all the myths (as many as i can think of) that current players seem to think they know to be true.

How about you?

mine is in my sig, thaqts why i asked because it wasn't in yours but i had forgotten about the other thread.i honestly haven't been for a lesson since coming back to the game and its not because i don't believe they know their stuff but i think that its money wasted if it don't improve my game.

we learn enough on here anyway....
