.....a cavity back iron with a thin top edge?
Have the club manufacturers missed a trick here?

What club do you think is this? (slightly photoshopped and as a clue, it's not Ping or Titleist)

Never been interested in a club with a hole in the back but am warming to the idea as some do look rather swich nowadays.

I think the manufacturers offer a lot of these sets at present unless you are talking about Super GI irons (MP63's or something similar) with a razor thin top line. Mutton dress as lamb??

There appears to be a bit too much offset in the iron above for me but not too bad in the looks dept. I'm guessing it's something like a MD golf iron.

Thought it was the JPX 800, and Bob has beat me to it.

Is it the 6-iron?

out of interest, did you shave some of the top line off when u photoshopped it

In effect the Callaway X forged are a cavity back with a thinnish top line, the Titleist CBs have a thin top line and I dare say there are others out there where the top lines whilst not as thin as some of the blade arent as chunky as the super GI irons. This is the the perfect iron design for me, some forgiveness in the design but still look good and have a forged head

Maybe! Like the idea of a CB, but hate that thick topline. I just dont feel confident when the head looks like a brick. Just a thought, do you get more club head speed from a small head? As aposed to a big CB club.

The Adams cb1 have the thinnest top line of any cavity backed iron I have ever seen. Fantastic looking iron. Would have loved to have bought them, but they come as standard with rifle shafts, and I just don't get on with rifles. Could have waited 3 months for a custom build, but where is the fun in that?

Interesting idea, Isn'tthe perimeter weighting, and therefore thicker top line, there to make the iron more forgiving ? Is what your describing the irons inbetween GI's and blades, where say the MP62's or NiKE VR forged pro-combo irons fit in ?

Not a scoobie what it could be other than a right handers iron, would I buy it? possibly how can you say on one viewing, I find blades a little too thin so yes it would appeal & would like to try them. OK what are they??

Agreed. I find clubs with a lot of offset off putting. I would be contastly fighting a big hook with them I think.

Mid you, I had some good results with a set of McGregor DoctorX and they were the fattest ugliest clubs in history!
