Come on guys. Give them a chance to fix it before you start jumping ship. Mistakes are easy to make. Let's see if they can fix it. Unless of course, you're one of those people who never makes a mistake, in which case, how does it feel to be perfect? My missus won't tell me.

ive seen good forums go by the way after radical changes. id be sad if this went in a similar fashion as its the most active board ive ever been on.

the users are not happy and there wont be a need for ads if they leave so compromise must be found.

if this is the beta test for it then surely the coders have their answer.

Really ****ing annoying.....Im trying to watch the golf as well seeing as im boycotting sky....So the net is my best bet....

Problem i have now is that with 3 pages open i cant switch between the forum and the golf because the half page of ridiculous Ads on the forum is making my golf run so slow that i could make a cuppa in the middle of Bubba's backswing and still manage to be back sitting down again before impact! :temper:

So for that reason im out.....Golf it is and the Forum can go by the wayside until its sorted.......Soon i would hope.

Gents, first things first, like most guys, the web dev guys probably dont work 24/7. There is a problem, we can all see it, especially in the PM pages. Give the guys a chance tomorrow and it should all be back to business as usual. All this talk of jumping ship is a little premature in my opinion.

I can't believe there are 7 pages of people stating the obvious same thing! Yes it's a pain in the arse, can't read pms and pictures are practically unviewable but give people a chance!

At the end of the day this forum is run free of charge with great comps etc. they ate not going to leave it as it is are they with no pms etc! But yes we must expect advertising.

Let's just all calm down and let GM's tech guys get it sorted.

One thing may help.
If you are using a mouse with a scroll wheel, hold down the Ctrl button on your Keyboard and scroll the mouse wheel forward. That should zoom in and hide some of the adverts

It is a change that hasn't been done in error. If we looked at one complaint and took the view that the powers that be will sort it after one complaint, they would assume everyone else liked the change. The more that comment the more likely we are to get back our much loved forum style!

I don't think anyone's leaving yet but the number against it says some may.

Give GM a chance! This could be one little accident, personally I am dealing with this just fine until it gets sorted as its the people that make this place, not the layout.

This is a golf forum, not life and death.

To be honest it didn't bother me too much until I tried to read a pm!

But people jumping up and down saying they are leaving is a bit drastic! Abit like when we changed systems loads of people moaning and saying they are leaving but really how many did and how many came back!

Granted its not ideal to squash it all In but surely With a bit of tweaking all will be good again. Think a bit of a compromise is required and patience.

I've just tried again to update my signature and there is no way of doing it, lots of other fields over lapping what you want to change;(

Rubbish, if you are going to change things at least make sure it works first?

The squashed forum is hideous, hoping it's not a permanent design decision. Most of the right hand side is wasted anyway as the ads don't float down the page.
