I asked the forum what they thought.
One of the options was ''I may change my mind'' Only one person chose the option.
You may think it's pointless and maybe it is, maybe its just a bit of fun as indicated by the last option.

I have not given my opinion or forced anyone else to do so and I won't be losing any sleep over the number of votes.
I just think maybe you need to lighten up a bit after all, it's almost christmas

? Im not arrogant, have you seen the news? We are in a mess. Just as we are really pulling clear of the last decade we shoot ourselves in the foot. I spend my days dealing with offices all over Europe and they really cant fathom what were up to.
We are shifting our entire business to Luxembourg and we wont be the last.
Yes, everyone has seen the news, it's impossible not to be aware of what is going on. But you are still wrong to say leavers should be ashamed. Everyone's circumstances are different, you may be moving your business out of the UK but what about all the UK fishermen that have seen their livelihoods destroyed by EU quotas, do their opinions not count just as much as yours?

Cameron originally went to Brussels ( or was it Strasberg?) to say that the UK were concerned with some aspects of the EU and he wanted some reforms,
He was told to go forth and multiply.

Why we are thinking that the EU are going to give us a golden deal when one of the few net contributors to their budget is leaving, is beyond me.

Once the vote was cast, it was always going to be a tough negotiation, with last minute brinkmanship ( which hasn’t finished yet)

Simply , a no deal will cause some initial problems, but I don’t think the doom mongers are correct at all, the world will keep turning, we will still want to buy German cars and french wine etc, so deals will be done, a couple of years down the line it will largely be history.

But it would have been far better if they had stated that a higher majority was required, like 60-40.

52-48 really is close

Anyway, I won’t be fazed with a no deal scenario , indeed it may well end up better than a bad deal

There might be, but to be honest no half decent politician is sticking their head above the parapet on either side. Its such a defining moment in the UK, whichever way it goes, that there's not a single politician who wants to step up to the plate and drive things forward.

Sturgeon, forget independence for a sec, has pointed the finger at both May and Corbyn and said how poor they are. She 100% right.

And when Sturgeon talked yesterday about the impact on Scotland of the government's newly revealed proposed immigration policy, she actually makes a coherent and logical case - because she has the factual evidence in front of her on the need for immigration and what it means for Scotland - and so it is not difficult for her experts to predict the impact were immigration levels to be slashed.

Now whether you agree with her argument is another matter - but at least it hangs together. Very little that May or Corbyn say actually hangs together under any scrutiny - never mind detailed scrutiny.

you really think we are going to just shut up shop and ban the EU from our waters? Naive in the extreme my friend. Perhaps people of the uk would do better to stop buying cheap mince and £3 chickens and start supporting our fishermen through buying and eating fish caught from the UK waters.

I voted "Brilliant Can't Wait" because I am staunch Brexiteer. It's true we are a laughing stock, but that's largely because other parties are using Brexit as a political forum, rather than showing any interest in the country. I whole heartedly believe that coming out of the EU is the best long term decision for the UK.

I would love Scotland to go it alone.

Buying British fish.....what a great idea! Oh hang on, we are not allowed to catch any, the Spanish do it for us

its and odd situation as we export most of what we catch and import most of of what we eat. If we were a little more adventurous and didn't stick to the same old 5 or 6 types we might change that.

Is fishing quotas not also in place to try and manage fish stocks and let depleted fish stocks recover? EU does do conservation quite well, have been personally involved on one of their LIFE conservation projects on SAC/SPA status areas so seen it in action. Fishermen are businessmen too looking to maximise profits short term and it could be questioned how many are thinking conservation for the future, just human nature. The fishing community in some areas with small boats may have been affected but I'd think much of that is just modernisation and losing out to the big boys with the high tech large boats, not sure EU has much to do with it. The average wage for a Scottish fisherman (not just skippers but all crew) is a whopping £117,000 per year, not sure what the UK number is. They don't have it as hard as it's made out. Farmers also play the 'poor us' card rather well too when most are actually pretty well off compared to the rest of us, some hill sheep farmers are very marginal of course and could suffer leaving EU. Farmers and fisherman are of a old fashioned mindset that the country owes them a living and would not accept that sometimes you have to retrain and do something else in life if a business is unsustainable, not just apportion blame.

I'm not sure where the £117k figure comes from, is that their annual wage or their turnover? I've seen plenty of documentaries where these guys are running their boats at a loss so I suspect that figure is total income before paying out fuel, wages, mortgage payments on the boat etc but I don't know that for sure.
